Those words exploded within me today during prayer time. Dark forces have been intensely assaulting me for a few days. So those words meant so much; they carried much meaning to me at this particular time. In my Christian life, I have on a few occasions experienced something like this, but rarely - [Is Not Easily Provoked](https://markmcmillion.com/is-not-easily-provoked/) - Some of the worst things that have ever happened to me occurred when I allowed myself to be provoked. So a very deep lesson for me has been learning not to allow that to happen. I suppose it’s a weakness—one that God really doesn’t want me to fall prey to. Some people just have a - [Well, it’s Christmas](https://markmcmillion.com/well-its-christmas/) - Everybody’s different. Paul said in the Bible, "One man esteems one day above the other, another esteems every day alike." (Romans 14:5) I guess I’m like the second group there when it comes to holidays. But also there’s just something about Christmas, or at least there should be. In many parts of the world, it’s - [Broken Branches](https://markmcmillion.com/broken-branches/) - Everything means something, you know? I was out for a walk when I saw something and immediately I knew it was like a message or at least significant. Hanging from a small tree was a broken branch. It had somehow been almost totally torn away from the tree. It hung down and was evidently just - [](https://markmcmillion.com/14570-2/) - I woke up at dawn, next to a small rural road in northeast Texas. It was my birthday; I was 21 years old now. I’d slept well overnight, just laying on a grassy patch I found. No snakes or scorpions or other varmints had bothered me. The day before I’d tried to hitchhike from near - [16 tons, what do you get?](https://markmcmillion.com/16-tons-what-do-you-get/) - When I was a kid, there was a pop song whose words mystified me. My dad explained that it was about an American coal miner trapped in debt slavery to the mining company he worked for. The company owned the grocery store where he bought food, and his wages were set so low that he - [You live and are dead](https://markmcmillion.com/you-live-and-are-dead/) - It was dead. The summer heat of Texas had killed the tree I’d planted in my yard. All the leaves were brown after not being watered while I was away for a few weeks. I was both mad and sad—not only because of what it had cost me to have it planted, but also because - [Urdu Daniel chapter 2 video](https://markmcmillion.com/urdu-daniel-chapter-2-video/) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nn2Gz2o53fM&t=27s By God’s grace I’ve been able to complete in Urdu the Daniel chapter 2 video in the “Prophecies of Daniel” series. Urdu is the national language of Pakistan and one of the main languages spoken in northern India. Daniel Chapter 2 is considered by scholars of almost all faiths to be the briefest and - [Thoughts on Present Europe](https://markmcmillion.com/thoughts-on-present-europe/) - I’ve just returned from Europe and my heart is deeply stirred for that continent and its people. My children and grandchildren live there. I myself lived in Europe for 25 years of my adult life, across more than 20 countries. From what I can see, there is a growing awareness that Europe now faces challenges - [I’ll take over now, thanks](https://markmcmillion.com/ill-take-over-now-thanks/) - It wasn’t a dream, but a strong, vivid experience—just before I woke up. There was a lucid presence, and it felt more like me than I was. So persuasive, so reasonable, and so overwhelming. “This was all for your good,” I was told. It would take a load off my shoulders. It would begin to - [Texas Flood](https://markmcmillion.com/texas-flood/) - I’m ok. But I had a close call. I live in the Hill Country, just northwest of Austin, and we’ve experienced an extreme weather event over the last few days. You’ve probably read about it. And I’ve been in the middle of it, not on the edge. A house 200 yards from me, down my - [“God is chance!”](https://markmcmillion.com/god-is-chance/) - I was in university, in a conversation with my friends when I blurted out, “God is chance!” At the time it really seemed like an epiphany to me. If you’re an atheist, as I was, “Chance” seems to be the ingredient that’s caused everything. Atheists believe everything “just happened”, from a series of accidents. Those - [Did the ancient prophets actually exist?](https://markmcmillion.com/did-the-ancient-prophets-actually-exist/) - Are the writings of the ancient prophets just all Jewish myths? Some people have written to tell me that the prophecies of Daniel are mere myths, with no historical foundation. I’m sure millions of people have heard and accepted that idea. But is it true? Are the prophecies of Daniel—or those of Isaiah, David, and - [Obi-Wan Kenobi In His Cave](https://markmcmillion.com/obi-wan-kenobi-in-his-cave/) - There he is, Obi-Wan Kenobi in his cave. Remember him? When you first saw him there in that movie, what did you think? “Hmm. Old has-been. Failure, washed up, driven into the wilderness.” But as we watched further, we found that he was an incredible guy. He had supernatural powers. He was extremely wise but - [Going to hell](https://markmcmillion.com/going-to-hell/) - The pinnacle experience of my life was going to hell when I was 20. I’ve shied away from talking about it over the years because it was so unspeakable. But perhaps I shouldn’t. Near-death experiences are rare and ones where the experience is a horrific one seem to be even more rare. But that’s what - [Suicide Bomber sees The Light](https://markmcmillion.com/suicide-bomber-sees-the-light/) - I received this letter from a friend in Europe recently. It was just astonishing. I’ll add it here as I received it; the English isn’t perfect but you’ll understand. Some names and places have been changed a little. Here’s what my friend wrote: I know a man who lives in [West Europe] who used to - [Mighty Angels](https://markmcmillion.com/mighty-angels/) - I’m going to tell you something that might be hard to believe. But it’s the truth—and almost certainly the most supernatural experience I’ve ever had while fully awake and on my feet. In an earlier blog post, I shared a story titled “That’s not how to talk about Jesus.”, from a period in the early - [“Whom the gods would destroy, they first make mad”](https://markmcmillion.com/whom-the-gods-would-destroy-they-first-make-mad/) - A famous phrase from at least the time of Rome said, “Whom the gods would destroy, they first make mad”. Does it apply to now? Is God preparing to destroy parts of the world and so is allowing them to descend into madness so that they bring on their own destruction? To say the least, - [Should Christians be passive?](https://markmcmillion.com/should-christians-be-passive/) - There is a time for believers to do more than fold their hands and pray. There is a time for that, certainly. But, equally, there’s a time to take action in the real world, to put feet to your prayers and deeds to your faith. Part of the crippling weakness of so many people of - [He said it 3 times](https://markmcmillion.com/he-said-it-3-times/) - God doesn’t waste His breath. He just expects, like a good Father, that if He says something, we’ll do it. But on rare occasions, He's said something three times. So, probably, whatever He said was important. One of those places is in Daniel chapter 8, the chapter I’m making the next video on currently. But - [Thinking about El Salvador](https://markmcmillion.com/thinking-about-el-salvador/) - I’ve been thinking about El Salvador. Anybody else? The huge prison there and the hundreds of those recently deported from the USA to prisons there, with possibly more to come. Jesus said that He was “…in prison and you visited me.” So folks said, “When were You in prison and we didn’t visit You?” And - [So you had to go home](https://markmcmillion.com/so-you-had-to-go-home/) - I heard a good talk about old age and going home. It spoke to me, since I did that recently. The talk was about Naomi and Ruth, taken from the Bible. But it made me think about myself, about other former missionaries who’ve had to go home, and about what is actually “home” anyway. It - [Commune with your own heart](https://markmcmillion.com/commune-with-your-own-heart/) - I had a rough night. Woke up at 5 AM and started thinking about current dilemmas I’m in. I was soon wide awake and thinking hard, as well as also praying and looking to the Lord. At length I got up, took a small amount of a sleep aid and went back to bed. But - [Citizenship in heaven](https://markmcmillion.com/citizenship-in-heaven/) - Paul said, “Our citizenship is in heaven” (Philippians 3:20). For some, this may be a strange concept. For others, it may strike a raw nerve. For many people, their nationality is perhaps their most cherished identity. Yet, they also identify as Christians, Jews, Muslims, or followers of other faiths. For most, or at least many, - [Me and USAID](https://markmcmillion.com/me-and-usaid/) - I woke up before dawn today, reflecting on my experiences with USAID. I was at the western tip of Indonesia twenty years ago today, in the aftermath of “the Christmas Tsunami”, which claimed the lives of 155,000 people in Banda Aceh, the capital of Aceh province. At the time, I was an aid worker at - [Sympathy for Migrants](https://markmcmillion.com/sympathy-for-migrants/) - I’m currently in Kampala, Uganda, after spending the last month traveling. In two weeks, I’ll be heading back to the United States. It’s been quite an eventful time, with some unexpected surprises and even moments of drama, but I’m thankful for God’s protection throughout it all. Most of the surprises have happened since I arrived - [Visiting Syria (part 2)](https://markmcmillion.com/visiting-syria-part-2/) - I mentioned in the first post on my visit to the city bordering Syria, how that the school we visited was a surprise. Clean, organized, a real testimony to the people who are running it. It just struck me as a sign of the resilience of these folks who have almost all suffered personally, often - [Christmas thoughts](https://markmcmillion.com/christmas-thoughts/) - Whew! I’m glad it’s Christmas time. Just to have that whiff of fresh air that comes with the sounds, sights and thoughts of Christmas. I’ve had a somewhat traumatic year. It’s not only been the two major surgeries and numerous teeth removed, it’s been the constant depressing news from both abroad and here in my - [How Russia now views the USA](https://markmcmillion.com/how-russia-now-views-the-usa/) - Could Donald Trump be for the USA what Michael Gorbachov was for Russia? That’s a popular view in Russia currently. While Trump’s election was greeted warmly in Moscow, digging a little deeper we find that all is not as benign as it seems. It turns out that many in the Kremlin feel that a Trump - [Checking your local school board](https://markmcmillion.com/checking-your-local-school-board/) - I’m flooded daily with info/spin regarding our society. But I’ve come to feel that the local schools in, not my country but my county is the realm in which I can and should try to take action. In all the overstatements and hyperbola that’s so normal now, I hesitate to explain how important I’ve come - [A Rabbit and the Lynch Mob](https://markmcmillion.com/a-rabbit-and-the-lynch-mob/) - A week ago was the day of the funeral of my mom, Virginia McMillion. I’d flown in from Europe the day before and it was just a rough time for me in every way. I’d not planned to speak at the funeral as I didn’t think I’d be able to handle it. But that morning - [Does hypocrisy disprove Christianity?](https://markmcmillion.com/hypocrisy-disprove-christianity/) - It seems a day doesn’t go by that some famous Christian is not exposed as a hypocrite or even a felon. Some writers have real joy as they go about to show some believer to actually be a scoundrel and fraud. And of course the implication is that their faith in God is all a - [Saint Francis and the wolf](https://markmcmillion.com/saint-francis-and-the-wolf/) - I enjoy reading about the history of faith, especially the spread of Christian faith over the last 2000 years. A spiritual awakening, starting in an obscure area of the Roman Empire, led by a young Jewish provincial preacher and healer, has turned into one of the largest religions in the world and lasted till now. - [The Stand](https://markmcmillion.com/the-stand/) - Someone said one time, “If your will power doesn’t work, try your “won’t” power.” Ha! But there’s a lot of truth in that. The Bible talks about the stand of faith. An obscure verse that highlights this principle is Judges 7:21, “And they stood, every man in his place, round about the camp, and all - [Turning things around](https://markmcmillion.com/turning-things-around/) - Love for (and from) our families turns out to be one of the biggest things of all. At times in our lives, it hasn’t always seemed that way. “They get on my nerves”, as the saying goes. You’re fortunate and rare if you’ve been close and dear to your family and they to you throughout - [Eclipse coming my way](https://markmcmillion.com/eclipse-coming-my-way/) - I’m expecting 4 minutes of total eclipse here at my house in less than 3 days. I don’t really know what will come of it. A half million people are said to be travailing to my area to check it out and there are plenty of scare mongers who are telling everyone to stock up - [The Third Man](https://markmcmillion.com/the-third-man/) - I rarely write things that are just personal, just something about my life. Tonight, late, I was on YouTube and just taking the liberty to listen to a couple of old songs from my early youth, not something I do very often at all. So I’ll share something personal with you. Some of the more - [](https://markmcmillion.com/14037-2/) - Here I am on the other side! Twelve days ago I had major surgery on my lower spine; and it was utterly needed to delivery me from months of strong pain in my hamstring muscles, tendons and buttocks. It’s such a relief to be able to walk around and not have that pain that would - [](https://markmcmillion.com/14010-2/) - What’s it like talking to angels? On the street? The first thing you notice is that they can read your thoughts. So you begin to realize that something is really up. Something strange is going on and you grasp more and more that this person in front of you is very unusual. But you’re also - [Miracles in Europe](https://markmcmillion.com/miracles-in-europe/) - Coming from an atheist background, the miracles in my life have been beacons of personal experience and sustenance. In this second audio recording, I’ve included 3 events that happened to me in the years I lived in Europe where the miraculous hand of God got me through dangerous, virtually impossible situations. I’ve found that it’s - [Spiritual Habits: Hearing from God](https://markmcmillion.com/spiritual-habits-hearing-from-god/) - One of the most amazing and beneficial things to me in being a believer is how we can actually get answers from God. Probably for some that may sound almost boastful. But it’s not. Here’s one of the more famous quotes from King Solomon, from the book of Proverbs. “Trust in the Lord with all - ["Redeeming the time" Part II](https://markmcmillion.com/redeeming-the-time-part-ii/) - There are just so many truths in the Bible; every square inch is just soaked with wisdom and wise admonitions. Paul told the Ephesians that they should be “redeeming the time because the days are evil.” (Ephesians 5:16) So for me, coming from a non Christian background, at first I really wondered what in the - [](https://markmcmillion.com/13980-2/) - I’m happy to announce that I’ve started making audio recordings of my blog articles. It’s a new thing for me to produce this kind of material but I thought it would be good since so many people nowadays listen to pod casts and recordings. This first recording is about supernatural experiences I’ve had in Austin, - [](https://markmcmillion.com/13962-2/) - “So, Mark, are you religious? Do you think that religion will solve the problems of the world today?” You’ll hardly every find me using that word, “religious”. I think that word is only twice found in the Bible. I’m not religious, but I found out by severe experience that there is a spiritual world. That - [Is there not a cause?](https://markmcmillion.com/is-there-not-a-cause/) - One of the most touching and stirring verses in the Bible to me is what David said when he was probably just a young teenager, “Is there not a cause?” (I Samuel 17:29) I’ve never read anything written about that verse by anyone so I'll tell you about it. You don’t have to believe in - [Everything means something](https://markmcmillion.com/everything-means-something/) - There was a funny song years ago by Simon and Garfunkel which was called, “At the zoo”. It went through all the animals at the zoo and with things like “Zebras are reactionaries, antelopes are missionaries”, things like that. But then, strangely, the Bible does say that everything means something. Paul said “The invisible things - [The Daniel Videos](https://markmcmillion.com/videos/) - A special interest for me over the years has been the subject of Bible prophecy. Having grown up as an atheist, discovering Bible prophecy after I became a Christian was an astonishing experience. Knowing that God has a plan and ultimate destination for mankind (and that He’s revealed that plan through His prophets) has been - [Every man to his tents!](https://markmcmillion.com/every-man-to-his-tents/) - Sometimes you just feel like, “Every man to his tents”. You’ve had enough. What’s in front of you is overwhelming. You’re taken aback by the events of the times and just feel you have to get away from it all. Of course, “Every man to his tents” was expressed close to 3000 years ago by - [A class at the camp of the saints](https://markmcmillion.com/a-class-at-the-camp-of-the-saints/) - I’ve just gotten back from a trip to northern Europe to see my kids and then a wonderful few days in Romania, at a get-together of Christian disciples, mostly East Europeans. I was asked if I would share a Bible class with the ones there and I was glad to do that. But I didn’t - [“Summoning” and A.I.](https://markmcmillion.com/summoning-and-a-i/) - I scan the horizon daily for “the signs of the times”. Some things have been there for years. But, what’s new? What’s now in view that indicates progress toward the very final end time foreseen in the Bible? “Artificial Intelligence” has been around for years, in some sense. But in recent times, with things like - [Restored!](https://markmcmillion.com/restored/) - I’ve had quite an adventure with Facebook recently. And there’s been a surprisingly happy ending. It started nearly 3 months ago when, out of the blue, Facebook notified me that they’d “paused” my ability to use Facebook advertising. I still had my account and could communicate with everybody. But my ability to post weekly ads - [The Miracle Suitcase](https://markmcmillion.com/the-miracle-suitcase/) - There were so many experiences I had from the time I spent on the mission field which basically were supernatural. The other day I thought of one I included in a newsletter around 2008. I was living in Ukraine and I planned a trip to Norway. Along the way one of those “God’s little miracle” - [Has Putin shot his bolt?](https://markmcmillion.com/has-putin-shot-his-bolt/) - There was almost no fear greater than the fear of Russia. But now Putin’s had to (as they say in poker), “Put what you’ve got on the table.” And it hasn’t looked good so far. No one expected Ukraine to be able to withstand Russia. But they have. One year into the war, it’s rather - [Angel stories: Lights on the Road](https://markmcmillion.com/angel-stories-lights-on-the-road/) - It was like being able to go back and see where you died. I recently went back to a country road west of Austin, Texas where, for all intents and purposes, I really should have died in October of 1969. It’s a sad, sobering story of what was truly God’s infinite mercy and my depraved - [What has the Lord already done?](https://markmcmillion.com/what-has-the-lord-already-done/) - So often Christians pray but the Lord’s already answered. Moses was almost overwhelmed by the calling he was given by God and he knew his own weaknesses. But God told him, “What is that in your hand?” (Exodus 4:2) In Moses’ hand was his own old, personal staff. But when Moses cast it to the ground, - [Foolhardy Faith](https://markmcmillion.com/foolhardy-faith/) - Some of the things I’ve done as a missionary would be seen by some as virtually foolish. I wrote about “It’s a gun, isn’t it?” and how the Lord protected me and my friend from 5 drunken east European miners in our train car on a Saturday night. But we were traveling on a mission - [The horse latitudes](https://markmcmillion.com/the-horse-latitudes/) - In the time of sailing ships, they’d often get stuck in “the horse latitudes”, a place in the Atlantic where the winds were often calm and the ships would stay for weeks, without wind in their sails. They’d end up having to get towed by row boats of their crew to zones where the winds - [Hindi Daniel 7 video: “दानिएल की किताब अध्याय ७”](https://markmcmillion.com/hindi-daniel-7-video-दानिएल-की-किताब-अध्या/) - I’ve been able to complete the Hindi version of the video on the book of Daniel chapter 7. Daniel 7 is the Old Testament chapter that most thoroughly prepares us for the book of Revelation. The imagery, information, characters and timing found in Daniel 7 are all seen more fully in Revelation. I believe much - [Floors and ceilings](https://markmcmillion.com/floors-and-ceilings/) - Most of us want to hit the ceiling, but we aren’t always as thankful for the floor. We mostly want to ascend the heights of the Lord, to have the thrills of heaven and the visions He gives, from time to time. But perhaps we should be more thankful for the floors He provides. That’s - [Strange, very strange. But true.](https://markmcmillion.com/strange-very-strange-but-true/) - About this time 15 years ago I moved back to Austin, Texas for a while. I wasn’t exactly backsliding but maybe I was “side-sliding”. I’d somewhat lost faith in myself as a Christian disciple. Frankly, it’s more difficult to have faith in yourself when it seems others don’t. I felt that my Christian service had - [An Answer from the Lord](https://markmcmillion.com/an-answer-from-the-lord/) - I got a little answer from the Lord today to a major question that’s been on my heart a while. He’s so faithful to get through to us with some new viewpoint or insight on what’s been a personal dilemma. For me, it’s been about how much I should be involved in what many could - [The Waning West](https://markmcmillion.com/the-waning-west/) - When’s the best time to attack your enemy? When he is weak, divided and distracted. This principle works across innumerable fields. And let’s be blunt. The West at this time is all of those to a huge degree: weak, divided and distracted. Did Putin have that in mind when he launched the attack on Ukraine? - [Jesus returned to earth in 70 A.D.?](https://markmcmillion.com/jesus-returned-to-earth-in-70-a-d/) - Did Jesus of Nazareth’s 2nd coming happen in 70 A.D? Did the fulfillments of dozens of prophecies reach their final climax then? Don’t laugh. Sadly there has been a ripple in the community of those who believe in the Lord’s return, somehow gazing toward this view that the return of Jesus to reign and rule - [Repentance](https://markmcmillion.com/repentance/) - Repent. It must be something we can do because it was one of the first things Jesus taught. “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” (Matthew 4:17) But what is repentance and how do you do it? Well, repentance is sort of on the “endangered species” list of words and even ideas, as - [Don’t be soon shaken in mind or be troubled](https://markmcmillion.com/dont-be-soon-shaken-in-mind-or-be-troubled/) - The hits keep coming, no? Seems like, if the right one don’t get you, the left one will, unless you watch out. That’s what I’m experiencing right now. And from what I’m hearing from friends, a lot of people -young and old- are experiencing the same. Maybe you could say, like in the song in - [Bad death, good death](https://markmcmillion.com/bad-death-good-death/) - I was thinking about death. I guess I experienced “bad death” just before I turned 21. I had a near death experience that wasn’t one of those “the-angel-introduces-you-to-Jesus” experiences. Nope, I got the other guy. And rightly so. I was an utter atheist and I enjoyed trying to break the faith of any quasi-Christians that - [Smoke and Mirrors](https://markmcmillion.com/smoke-and-mirrors/) - Have you ever felt you were surrounded by fluff and froth? The hype, the posturing, the flaunted pretenses? Just think, did Jesus have a public relations team? Did Jesus worry about His image and issue press releases? Umm, no. One of the greatest blessings of being a discipleship Christian is that the Lord strips away - [What if the wolf was really there?](https://markmcmillion.com/what-if-the-wolf-was-really-there/) - What if the wolf was really there? In the end, the real wolf showed up in the story of the little boy who cried wolf. But people had become so skeptical, they didn’t believe it. Folks and friends, the wolf is there. No, he doesn’t show up all the time and there are lots of - [Truth us, oh Lord!](https://markmcmillion.com/truth-us-oh-lord/) - Can “truth” be a verb? Can God “truth us”? I never thought of that before. But, my gosh, how we need God to truth us. What darkness we live in, what confusion, what banality. But God can truth us. He can just almost blast us with the truth, blowing away the clouds and the gloomy - [A note on the tenor of the times](https://markmcmillion.com/a-note-on-the-tenor-of-the-times/) - Many of us know just how fast and far things have plunged into darkness. The whole trend of light being called darkness, truth being called a lie and love being called hate has already permeated the society I live in and is almost taken for granted in everyone’s lives. One example stood out to me - [From Atheist to Believer](https://markmcmillion.com/from-atheist-to-believer/) - Here’s a 20 minute video where I share about my early life and a near-death experience I had in university that God used to deliver me from entrenched atheism. This filming was done impromptu and unscripted so in places I jump from one thought to another, plus some parts are still difficult to talk about - [Do you ever feel dumb?](https://markmcmillion.com/do-you-ever-feel-dumb/) - Do you ever feel dumb? Sometimes I do. But Jesus said, “The children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.” (Luke 16:8 ) He also said, “Be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.” (Matthew 10:16) The Lord closed His thought with the injunction not to be dumb sheep - [Chinese Video: “历史上 预言的力量”](https://markmcmillion.com/chinese-video-历史上-预言的力量/) - I’ve been able to complete in Chinese the beginning video in the Prophecies of Daniel series, which in English is called “An Introduction to Prophecy in History”. In Chinese this video is called “The Power of Prophecy in History”. For many people, Biblical prophecy is something they’ve never heard of and have no knowledge of. - [Seeing light through the mists](https://markmcmillion.com/seeing-light-through-the-mists/) - Without God, life can be like being nibbled to death by ducks. The enemies of our soul want to exhaust you and wear you down with distractions, vanities, “rabbit trails” and meaninglessness. Without God, you ultimately crumble, surrender to the fog and become numb within the mists you’ve come to live in. Certainly, this is - [Hindi Video: “इतिहास में भविष्यवाणी की शक्ति”](https://markmcmillion.com/hindi-video-इतिहास-में-भविष्यवाणी/) - I’ve been able to complete in Hindi the beginning video in the Prophecies of Daniel series, which in English is called “An Introduction to Prophecy in History”. For many people, Biblical prophecy is something they’ve never heard of and have no knowledge of. In the video I try to introduce this phenomenon as it frequently - [Continue in the things you have known](https://markmcmillion.com/continue-in-the-things-you-have-known/) - Sometimes you don’t know what to do. You seem to be in fog. You become uncertain about your direction and even your vision and goals. I’ve been like that. And tonight I had to really go out and pray about it. In these times there is a major cacophony of voices and proponents, fervently pointing - [Not easily satisfied](https://markmcmillion.com/not-easily-satisfied/) - Often, we’re not easily satisfied. The general of an ancient king came to a prophet to be healed. The prophet didn’t even go out to meet him. Instead he sent a messenger to tell the general to go wash in a small, muddy local river. The general was incensed. “Is that all?” seemed to be - [Direct Revelations](https://markmcmillion.com/direct-revelations/) - If you never hear a voice, if you never see a vision, if you never dream a dream, if you’ll just obey God’s Word, you can have a wonderful life in Him. On the other hand, God often wants to enrich our lives and provide more power from His Spirit to us by using these - [Spiritual Habits: Humility](https://markmcmillion.com/spiritual-habits-humility/) - Humility is a funny thing. When you think you have it, you probably don’t. But it’s easy to not think of humility as a good thing. Certainly in the secular world, humility is normally equated with weakness and even with being a loser. But this is one of the clearest places where the Lord’s ways - [Just a little false](https://markmcmillion.com/just-a-little-false/) - The devil fought me for hours. I was asleep and kept having these strong experiences, not really terrifying but just false. I knew it was some alternative reality that was upon me and I resisted it. I even quoted Bible verses to defy the things my mind was seeing in my sleep. Yes, you can - [Friends](https://markmcmillion.com/friends/) - Friends. I’ve never really thought deeply about that word. We say it, use it, but seldom deeply look into it. Churchill’s friendship with Roosevelt was a bedrock of the alliance between Great Britain and the USA which were able to overcome Nazi German nearly 80 years ago. That’s all mostly forgotten in these times. But - [On a Personal Note](https://markmcmillion.com/on-a-personal-note/) - Maybe I should write an update about my personal life. Lots has been happening. I last wrote a post about personal matters when I was in Brazil 2 years ago. Back then I was on a trip to Rio and Sao Paulo to do recordings in Portuguese for the Prophecies of Daniel videos. The first - [Before the storm](https://markmcmillion.com/before-the-storm/) - Some of us are like water drops, before the storm. We’ve been in storms before. Now, we’re just floating around, tiny droplets who before were parts of mighty storms. But only God can do it. Storms, when they’re from God, are good. They bring rain and wind, they clear the air and actually shake things - [God has given …a sound mind](https://markmcmillion.com/god-given-sound-mind/) - It seems like everywhere I go nowadays, I hear about people who are suffering from serious mental problems. Fears, confusion, syndromes, suicidal thoughts and just various forms of insanity or bleak mental instability. And these are folks across all spectrums and nationalities, Christian or otherwise. It really moves me because for a time, in my - [Not old-old](https://markmcmillion.com/not-old-old/) - My mom said to me, “I’m old. But I’m not old-old.” She was in her 80’s at the time. That always struck me as an interesting viewpoint. Personally, I can’t really consider myself middle-aged any more. But I certainly don’t consider myself “old-old”. I heard someone say, “You're as old as your last revolution.” A - [Conflicting currents and viewpoints](https://markmcmillion.com/conflicting-currents-and-viewpoints/) - Six years ago I was told, “By 2020, Texas will be uninhabitable. The temperature will reach 120 degrees (50° Centigrade) each summer. Huge population migrations will happen as a result.” A dear friend with strong environmentalist views told me this. Then last November I had a clash with a missionary friend who I’ve known for - [“Truth be known”](https://markmcmillion.com/truth-be-known/) - Most of you who read these posts are native English speakers. But I’m aware that there’s a minority who are not. Having lived for years in foreign countries, I’ve come to where I can speak a simplified English and can at times look into phrases that native English speakers take for granted. One example could - [Did Jesus ever have seconds?](https://markmcmillion.com/did-jesus-ever-have-seconds/) - Did Jesus ever have seconds? Did he taste something really good and decide to have a little more? Would that have been sin on the part of the Savior? I was thinking about that tonight as I had a glass of wine and a little snack of nuts. Did Jesus ever do that? Would that - [They believed not for joy](https://markmcmillion.com/they-believed-not-for-joy/) - Recently something happened to me that was so amazing and, Lord help me, so unexpected that when it happened, I almost didn’t believe it. It did happen, no question about that. But I just was saying afterwards to myself, "Did that really happen?" It’s like when the disciples saw Jesus after His resurrection and “they - [Fog](https://markmcmillion.com/fog/) - Winston Churchill, writing about 1940 said, “Although it was a fine September, I was frightened of the fog.” Why? Because he knew that the fog was the best cover the enemy could have for a German invasion of Britain at that time. And that’s in many ways where we are now: in a fog. Admittedly, - [Weighed in the balances](https://markmcmillion.com/weighed-in-the-balances/) - It can be a frightening thing to be weighed in the balances. We are faced with a sudden accounting of our lives and decision, at times in our lives. That’s what is happening to the Christian leadership of Texas right now. The fearsome polar vortex that engulfed Texas a few days ago pushed the state's - [The Tar Baby](https://markmcmillion.com/the-tar-baby/) - Some things are just a "tar baby". Never heard that phrase before? I’m not surprised. There was a man named Joel Chandler Harris who was a famous writer from the southern states after the Civil War in the United States in the 1860’s. There was even a movie made years ago, called “Song of the - [Does God have a sense of humor?](https://markmcmillion.com/does-god-have-a-sense-of-humor/) - So Peter, James and John walked into a bar… No, wait, change that. Peter, James and John were on the mount of transfiguration. There was Jesus and it says "His face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light." (Matthew 17:2) It says that the three disciples saw Moses and - [Judgment begins at the house of God](https://markmcmillion.com/judgment-begins-at-the-house-of-god/) - The Bible says, “Judgment must begin at the house of God”. (I Peter 4:17) What does that mean? God holds the standard the highest for those who proclaim that they are His. It’s like how Jesus castigated the Pharisees rather than the drunks. In fact He told the self-righteous religious leaders of His day, “The - [Insufficient in prayer](https://markmcmillion.com/insufficient-in-prayer/) - I was thinking tonight about how God has been really good to me. So much so that I can’t really express it or find the words. Sometimes you can’t equal with your words of thankfulness the measure of the abundant grace that the Lord has bestowed upon you. Words fail you. But the funny thing - [Introducing Prophecy in History](https://markmcmillion.com/introducing-prophecy-in-history/) - [This is the text version of my video, “An Introduction to Prophecy in History”.] I’ve got something to tell you about that’s had a tremendously good effect on my life: prophecy. It’s a big subject. Just the word prophecy brings different thoughts to people. So I’ll narrow it down a bit. But first, I’ll tell - [Should we change?](https://markmcmillion.com/should-we-change/) - Should we change? Big question. It depends. Does God change? He actually answered that. “I am the Lord, I change not.” (Malachi 3:6) But when we search the Scriptures, we see examples where the Lord’s way of dealing with His people changed over the centuries. “The word of God was precious in those days, there - [Dumbing down](https://markmcmillion.com/dumbing-down/) - It’s one thing to be simple, but another to be ignorant and lacking understanding. It’s often so shocking, heartbreaking and infuriating for me to see in my home country the level of ignorance concerning the things of the Lord or especially the history of faith. If I asked 100 Americans who Martin Luther was, I - [The Book of Daniel Chapter 12 video, “The End and Beyond”](https://markmcmillion.com/the-book-of-daniel-chapter-12-video-the-end-and-beyond/) - I’ve been able to complete the video about the last chapter in the book of Daniel, chapter 12. There the angel highlights the main points of the future that have been revealed to Daniel and, in the last verses in the chapter, adds a surprising final revelation that takes us further beyond “the end”. I - [Tossed About](https://markmcmillion.com/tossed-about/) - We’re not just supposed to “watch our tongue”, we’re to watch our ears too. Jesus said so. “Take heed what you hear”, He said (Mark 4:24). And you may wonder how you can do that. But that verse came to me very strongly in relation to what I’m experiencing with so many Christians nowadays. Maybe - [Proponents of the Truth](https://markmcmillion.com/proponents-of-the-truth/) - If there is anything a Christian should be known for, it should be for their truth. We should be known for our love, certainly. But if we’re weak in truth, it discredits the Lord and all He stood for. Jesus said, “Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice”. (John 18:37) He even said, - [Salvation and rewards](https://markmcmillion.com/salvation-and-rewards/) - Is salvation cheap? In some ways it is. In fact it is free because it is a gift of God. This upsets some folks and they just don’t think it’s fair or right. Of course it cost Jesus the ultimate price to give us the gift of salvation. But for us it’s free, it can - [The book of Daniel chapter 11-b, “The Last 3½ Years”](https://markmcmillion.com/the-book-of-daniel-chapter-11-b-the-last-3½-years/) - First, on a personal note, I’m doing well, staying healthy, active and looking forward to the many things on the plate and in the works over the next few months. As most of you know, one of my main occupations in the last few years has been to work on the production of videos on - [Once more, into the breach](https://markmcmillion.com/once-more-into-the-breach/) - One more time and you feel like it will kill you. You feel you have given your all. But the job is not done. You don’t know if you can take any more. This is what soldiers experience. Or some of those in sports. And even some Christians. It is said of Jesus, “He poured - [Was David a failure?](https://markmcmillion.com/was-david-a-failure/) - Sometimes if you go to church, it’s like the verse that talks about, “choose the good and refuse the evil” (Isaiah 7:16), ha! I sure better explain that. The church I’ve gone to for the past months is pretty good and I’ve gotten a lot out of what I have heard there much of the - [Budding… in September](https://markmcmillion.com/budding-in-september/) - My trees were dead and are alive again! Some trees (and lives) look truly dead, like what’s been happening here this summer in Texas. The scorching sun and heat have devastated some of the trees and many have totally dried up and turned brown. Day by day as the drought got worse here, it grieved - [Are you worried about “the mark of the Beast”?](https://markmcmillion.com/are-you-worried-about-the-mark-of-the-beast/) - There’s a lot online now about “the mark of the Beast”. So many people are concerned about this that I feel I should say something. I put off writing this article but several people recently wrote me about this. Is “the mark of the Beast” already here? Can it be forced on you? Is the - [Daniel 11-a, verses 1- 31](https://markmcmillion.com/daniel-11-a-verses-1-31/) - I’ve been able to complete the next video in English in the Prophecies of Daniel series. A three week battle - [The book of Daniel chapter 10 video](https://markmcmillion.com/the-book-of-daniel-chapter-10-video/) - I’ve been able to complete the video about chapter 10 of the book of Daniel. While this chapter isn’t a prophetic chapter, it is one of the strongest ones in the Bible to show the realities of the spiritual world and the battles that go on there. Daniel chapter 10 presents the scene and the - [Anarchy and stable government](https://markmcmillion.com/anarchy-and-stable-government/) - Perhaps the November elections in the USA will pass without violent unrest. Some people here now flirt with the idea of an uprising if the election doesn’t go their way. Talk show host for years have spoken against the government, declaring that the government is our enemy. My friends, I've lived in over 50 countries - [Strengthen the things that remain](https://markmcmillion.com/strengthen-the-things-that-remain/) - General George Patton, the flamboyant but successful American general attended ceremonies in Berlin in 1945 of victorious forces who had defeated the Nazis. But Patton at one point attempted to provoke a major incident - [God’s Little Miracles](https://markmcmillion.com/gods-little-miracle/) - Do miracles happen? Do angels exist? I’ll tell you what happened to me last night. You decide. After my evening’s English teaching was finished around 8:30 PM, I was asked to be the last one out of the building and to lock up. But last night, when I set the automatic locking and alarm, it - [God Will Reveal](https://markmcmillion.com/god-will-reveal/) - The first year after I became a Christian, I was often really desperate in prayer. That can be good and usually is good. So often for many people, it’s like the verse that says, “No man stirreth himself to call upon Me.” (Isaiah 64:7). But for me, maybe it had to do with the very - [Tie up in port?](https://markmcmillion.com/tie-up-in-port/) - There’s just something about going on the initiative to the attack that brings victory. This isn’t specifically a Christian teaching but actually it’s known and spoken of across many platforms and schools of thought. But certainly for the people of faith, you really have to keep wanting to make progress or you’re well on your - [Visiting Europe](https://markmcmillion.com/visiting-europe/) - This won’t be a normal blog post, just a short update. I’ve been on the other side of the Atlantic from where I am normally. Right now I'm in Gothenburg, Sweden, visiting two of my sons and their families. I landed in Oslo, Norway around 10 days ago and visited with my daughter and son - [Shedding the blood of war in peace](https://markmcmillion.com/shedding-the-blood-of-war-in-peace/) - Some people crack up very easily. The slightest provocation, a hint of disagreement and they just freak out. For some, they take a dive into depression. Others burst forth with a stream of accusations against the person they felt offended by. Sometimes it even goes beyond words to physically violence and death, all because of - [How “the End” may begin (Part 1)](https://markmcmillion.com/how-the-end-may-begin-part-1/) - Some of my friends feel it’s ludicrous and in very poor taste to talk about anything having to do with “the end”. They feel is smacks of religious insanity. I have other friends who are ardent students of Bible prophecy and followers of current events. Some of them are preparing for a breakdown of society - [Ageism](https://markmcmillion.com/ageism/) - In her 70’s, my mom said, “I’m old. But I’m not old-old.” But it’s sad and wrong to discriminate against anyone because of their age. And "ageism" is the relatively new word for this. Discrimination is a hurtful but very common thing, worldwide. You’ve heard of “racism”, I’ve written about that several times. And “sexism” - [Are we there yet?](https://markmcmillion.com/are-we-there-yet/) - Are we there yet? Are we now actually in the very final events just before the second coming of Christ? Some utterly mock that whole concept. But many millions know what Jesus said would happen before His return. I’ve studied these things all my adult life and looked almost daily at “the signs of the - [Certainty](https://markmcmillion.com/certainty/) - In our world, one of the most certain things seems to be uncertainty. Everything can seem elusive, a shadow or mirage that vanishes when we try to approach it. That’s why for me, the certainty that I have found in the life God has given me is one of the things I’m most thankful for. - [The Coral snake in the driveway](https://markmcmillion.com/the-coral-snake-in-the-driveway/) - Yesterday there was a big Coral snake in the driveway. We killed it. Coral snakes are the most poisonous snakes in my part of the world, more poisonous than rattle snakes. It wouldn’t really have been right at the time to say, “Oh, don’t worry. Don’t be afraid. Everything is going to be alright.” No, - [Scapegoat](https://markmcmillion.com/scapegoat/) - A perplexing thing to the modern mind is the idea of animal sacrifice. “How could they do that?!” is the thought of so many in the West. It seems so barbaric, so cruel. If you are Jewish or Islamic, you might have a slightly different perspective. Throughout the Islamic world, the yearly celebration of Eid - [Still](https://markmcmillion.com/still/) - I’m really thankful that God has made it so that the Bible has had such an impact on my life. A few days, a week or two and the world is vastly different from how it was. Rationing, national lockdowns, schools closed, air travel curtailed and most nations utterly changed from a few weeks ago. For the people of faith, especially those who look to the prophetic future that’s - [Red Cards](https://markmcmillion.com/red-cards/) - There are a lot of red cards flying around nowadays and most people are scared to death of them. “Oh my God! The imagery, information, characters and timing found in Daniel 7 are all seen more fully in Revelation. I believe much - [Conquering](https://markmcmillion.com/conquering/) - That word probably leaves a funny taste in the mouth for most of us 21st century folks. “Conquering” sounds like the war-mongering, triumphalist people we just don’t like or want to be. We’re mostly the peace loving, “can’t-we-get-along” types. But that’s where those of us who believe in God would do well to remember that we - [Cardinals in the Winter](https://markmcmillion.com/cardinals-in-the-winter/) - I was out for prayer this clear, cold winter morning when I noticed a lone Cardinal singing merrily away in a tree in our back lot. So if you follow God, then you are going to look twisted - [Christmas Miracle, 1875 and now](https://markmcmillion.com/christmas-miracle-1875-now/) - It was Christmas Eve, 1875. Ira D. By increments is the way things often come, both good and bad. I’ve been thinking about how sin can end up actually defeating us. So often - [Empty Fields](https://markmcmillion.com/empty-fields/) - In early September I was alone, far off in a vast field of grain on my birthday, in eastern Norway. I - [Being Led of God](https://markmcmillion.com/being-led-of-god/) - God is neither deaf, mute or inert. He’s not dead or even sick. And, yes, I certainly mean most - [Heart Attack Blessings?](https://markmcmillion.com/heart-attack-blessings/) - Two days ago I had a heart attack. Deserted by friends or family, afflicted in health, ruined in reputation and with seemingly no real reason to even keep on living. You’ve been cut off at - [Christmas and prophecy](https://markmcmillion.com/christmas-and-prophecy/) - No other event from 2000 years ago holds the attention of the world like Christmas and the birth of Jesus does. Why did Jesus leave the multitude when He had all those people there to talk to? - [Roots, seeds and weeds](https://markmcmillion.com/roots-seeds-and-weeds/) - I cut that down, how is it springing back up?! Well, the roots are still there, alive below the surface although I cut it to the ground. Hmm. The Lord spoke to me this morning through this. Some things in our lives keep springing back up, even though we cut them down. The roots are - [The most controversial chapter in the Bible](https://markmcmillion.com/the-most-controversial-chapter-in-the-bible/) - The most controversial chapter in the Bible is I Corinthians 7. Basically Paul is tackling the subject of marriage, sex, abstinence and the whole gambit of human male/female relationships. And on top of - [Back in Brazil](https://markmcmillion.com/back-in-brazil/) - When people ask me, “What’s your favorite country that you’ve been in?” I’ve often said “Brazil”. Or Stillness?](https://markmcmillion.com/action-or-stillness/) - I was having my morning devotions time and one of the things I read was from “Streams in the Desert” about stillness. The thought was how that it isn’t in all our efforts or straining that God’s will is accomplished but in being still. So I really thought about that. Like so many things, there’s - [Friendly](https://markmcmillion.com/friendly/) - One of the things I like about living here is that, so often, people are simply friendly. The Bible says, “A man that has friends must show himself friendly, and there is a friend that sticks closer than a brother”. (Proverbs 18:24) Friendliness and friendship are things that are easy to take for granted and - [Christians doing their homework](https://markmcmillion.com/christians-doing-their-homework/) - A lot of Christians haven’t done their homework. Daniel chapter 2 is - [Loving God](https://markmcmillion.com/loving-god/) - So I woke up to a beautiful, golden, clear day this morning, and, as I often do, put on some devotional music to start the day. One of the first songs was simply about loving God, about how it takes time to do that, love Him every day. And I thought about that, how simple - [The Course of This World](https://markmcmillion.com/the-course-of-this-world/) - The other night just a phrase from the Bible was really speaking to me, where it talks about “the course of this world” (Ephesians 2:2). Sometimes God’s Word is like a flash of lightning, illuminating the darkness of the night. Paul wrote to the Ephesians, “In times past you walked according to the course of - [“The most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen”](https://markmcmillion.com/the-most-beautiful-thing-ive-ever-seen/) - What a dream I just had! I was racing up the stairs of a large apartment complex, right behind a friend of mine who was basically running for his life. Because also running up the stairs was another man who was out to probably kill the first man. Both men were professional athletes, on the - [Judge not?](https://markmcmillion.com/judge-not/) - Many people have heard what Jesus said in one place, “Judge not, that you be not judged.” (Matthew 7:1) And then they’ll say, “Who are we to judge?” Personally I believe that these thoughts have been overused and misapplied to where believers have become emasculated and led to think that passive acquiescence to evil is - [Our giants](https://markmcmillion.com/our-giants/) - One of the more interesting, and to me puzzling guys in the entire Bible is the patriarch Jacob. Some may chide me for saying so but he’s always seemed like almost an anti-hero among the pantheon of Biblical greats. Jacob even means “deceiver”. He lied to his dad. He tricked his brother out of his - [Chinese Daniel chapter 2 video: 但以理书 第二章](https://markmcmillion.com/chinese-daniel-chapter-2-video-但以理书-第二章/) - https://youtu.be/VjKvptOfSck I’ve been able to complete in Chinese the second video in the Prophecies of Daniel series, Daniel Chapter 2. This chapter is considered by scholars of almost all faiths to be the briefest and most concise overall picture of the history and future of the world in the entire Bible. Daniel chapter 2 is - [He went a little further and fell on His face.](https://markmcmillion.com/went-little-fell-face/) - One thing about Jesus, usually no one faults Him for being half-hearted. He was a sample in so many ways but one of those is the whole hearted, utter commitment He had to His calling. It says that in the Garden of Gethsemane, when He was praying just before Judas came with a band of - [Green leaves hanging on](https://markmcmillion.com/green-leaves-hanging-on/) - It’s December, way past Fall, right? But some green leaves are still hanging on. They’re still green, not even turning yellow yet. How’s that happening? I guess they must have a real good grip on the branch. And also they probably were having a good connection with the sap all Spring, Summer and even Fall. - [Intimacy in Cyberspace ?](https://markmcmillion.com/intimacy-in-cyberspace/) - Intimacy. Let’s admit it: we all want that. Physically, yes; but even as much or more that union of heart with heart with another kindred soul. Jesus prayed to His Father, “That they all may be one, as You, Father are in me and I in you.” (John 17:21) Some have it in their families, - [Are you in your war room?](https://markmcmillion.com/are-you-in-your-war-room/) - I saw a really good movie last night, “War Room”. Often Christian movies can be a little corny and contrived but this one hit the mark for me. Of course the cynic in me and the cynic among us will say that things aren’t always just like we see in this movie. The other side - [Suicide](https://markmcmillion.com/suicide/) - To me, suicide is a terrible, horrible thing. I’ve had times in my life where that thought came to me but there were just too many reasons not to do it. But it does seem to claim many lives in our times. Despair and hopelessness come upon us in mighty waves and to end our - [Have you ever been “ghosted”?](https://markmcmillion.com/have-you-ever-been-ghosted/) - Have you ever been “ghosted”? I hope not. And I hope you haven’t “ghosted” anyone either. Jesus said of the time before His return that, “The love of many shall grow cold”. (Matthew 24:12) So it’s almost a sign of the times that, in human relationships, “ghosting” has become the new vogue. Here’s a current - [Commit](https://markmcmillion.com/commit/) - Commit, committed, commitment; lots of really important words from the same root. It’s an often familiar concept, not only to Christians but to everyone. Commitment is usually needed at every level of life, not only for success but even for some measure of contentment. But this morning that root word, “commit” stood out to me - [Harden not your heart](https://markmcmillion.com/harden-not-your-heart/) - King David tells us, “Today, if you will hear His voice, harden not your hearts.” (Psalm 95:7 & 8) Many people in our times may not even know what that means, to “harden your heart”. Or, if they do, they may think of it as something they should do, instead of not do. Growing up - [“Cast your bread upon the waters…”](https://markmcmillion.com/cast-your-bread-upon-the-waters-2/) - Thank God for something new. We all need to get fresh things from the Lord, to hear from Him “new every morning”. Otherwise it can end up that we feel like we’re following afar off and we can begin to wonder if He still is near to us in our lives, as we know He - [God Needs You](https://markmcmillion.com/god-needs-you/) - One morning while I was in Bulgaria, I was in a room above the little church where they were hosting me. I’d been speaking to around 70 people for the first two nights who’d braved the late winter snow to come and hear what the foreigner had to say. I’d shared my life story of - [German Video: “Einführung in Prophezeiungen der Geschichte”](https://markmcmillion.com/german-video-einfuhrung-in-prophezeiungen-der-geschichte/) - I’ve been able to complete in German the beginning video in the Prophecies of Daniel series, which in English is called “An Introduction to Prophecy in History”. For many people, Biblical prophecy is something they’ve never heard of and have no knowledge of. In the video I try to introduce this phenomenon as it frequently - [Follow God and miracles will follow you](https://markmcmillion.com/follow-god-and-miracles-will-follow-you/) - There are so many promises in the Bible for those who follow God, who not only believe in but also actually obey the Lord, that He will manifest Himself unto them. Jesus said in John 14:21, “He that has my commandments and keeps them, he is it that loves me. And he that loves me - [Our lives are hid with Christ in God](https://markmcmillion.com/our-lives-are-hid-with-christ-in-god/) - Why did that happen! Why didn’t God answer prayer? Ever get hit with those thoughts? I’ll admit that I do sometimes and I think most people do. Things didn’t work out. It doesn’t seem right or fair. But this is where, for the people of faith, we just have to make a real decision to - [Kicking against the pricks](https://markmcmillion.com/kicking-against-the-pricks/) - Some people’s heads are bloody but unbowed. They resist to the bitter end and even think they’re doing the right thing. But they may find out they’ve resisted the loving pleading and entreaties of God Himself. Yes, that can happen and does happen; sadly all too often. God doesn’t usually override human will. He waits - [Elections in Sweden](https://markmcmillion.com/elections-in-sweden/) - There will be elections here in Sweden in a few days. Much of the nation is caught up with it as seemingly fundamental changes are in motion here, as they are across Europe and in the USA as well. Answers and explanations that were taken as givens for generations in Sweden, and in other countries - [Praying the Word](https://markmcmillion.com/praying-the-word/) - There are so many good things to do. But sometimes we just need to lay them down and pour out our hearts to the Lord. Jesus said, “Without me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5) And as much as our own independent hearts would like to disagree with that, it’s totally the truth. Well, we - [“Kiss the crucifix!”](https://markmcmillion.com/kiss-the-crucifix/) - My Bulgarian friends know a high school student who told them he always wears a crucifix because he’s not ashamed of his faith. But also he sometimes holds out his crucifix to Muslim high school students and tells them, “Kiss the crucifix!” And he told my friends, if those people don’t kiss the crucifix, he - [“He gave good heed”](https://markmcmillion.com/he-gave-good-heed/) - I heard someone say, “You have to see God!” Equally, you’ve got to hear God. That’s what that verse means, “He gave good heed” (Ecc. 12:9), he was conscientious at hearing God’s voice. Sometimes it’s not even a voice; it’s a nudge or almost a breeze. But your life, your future and your destiny can - [Impressions of Uganda](https://markmcmillion.com/impressions-of-uganda/) - I’m in my last couple of days in Uganda before moving on to the next place on my current trip. I’m leaving with a lot to think about and a lot to “digest”. I didn’t know the Ugandans were as spiritually hungry as they are. Actually, a number of my preconceived ideas turned out to - [When He saw the multitude, He was moved with compassion](https://markmcmillion.com/when-he-saw-the-multitude-he-was-moved-with-compassion/) - It’s 6 AM at the Dubai airport and I’m among several thousand people, waiting to board their flights to the Middle East and Africa. Almost no one “looks like me”. That can be disturbing if I let it but I pretty much got over those kinds of emotions long ago. Instead, I’m struck by the - [Seeing China](https://markmcmillion.com/seeing-china/) - I’ve been in China, my first time in this part of the world. Of course there’s a lot to see but then also I didn’t really come here to see the tourist sites. For people of faith, there’s just an extra dimension or two when traveling and often I end up getting so much more - [His banished be not expelled from Him](https://markmcmillion.com/banished-not-expelled/) - Sometimes the ways of the Lord are strange to us, but they’re not past finding out. And His power and incredibly undeserved mercy is one of the amazing things about Him. King David said, “Whether shall I go from Your Spirit or whether shall I flee from Your presence?” (Psalm 139:7 & 8) But, you - [“The LORD said to my Lord…”](https://markmcmillion.com/lord-said-lord/) - Perhaps the biggest surprise of my life was finding out who Jesus is/was. Maybe it’s second only to finding out earlier that God actually is for real. I’d been told that Jesus was a great man, a wonderful teacher. But that’s about it. “God? Well, yeah, He’s up there somewhere but we don’t hear much - [To Build and to Plant](https://markmcmillion.com/to-build-and-to-plant/) - It’s easier to be a prophet of doom than a healer of wounds and a feeder of sheep. Sometimes it’s easy to see what’s wrong. But it’s often not easy to find a true solution, to champion genuine improvement and righteous progress. But without solutions, all our exposing of the darkness is mostly in vain. - [The gospel of John](https://markmcmillion.com/the-gospel-of-john/) - If you’re new to believing in Jesus, there can be a lot that’s hard to understand. Maybe you’ve come to know that there really is something to it all and that Jesus was not just a great teacher. But probably there’s just a lot that you don’t understand. If that’s you, don’t worry about it. - [Close Encounters and Pinnacle Experiences](https://markmcmillion.com/close-encounters-and-pinnacle-expereinces/) - Maybe you’ve heard the phrase, “pinnacle experiences”, those rare moments in life when you feel like you’re on some kind of spiritual mountain and see things that are almost eternal, truths you almost never realized before. For many people, this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience or perhaps a few times at most. You’re lifted above the - [Ignorance and Prejudice or Truth and Integrity](https://markmcmillion.com/ignorance-prejudice-truth-integrity/) - Ignorance and prejudice or truth and integrity? These things know no boundaries or borders. Are “They” ignorant and prejudice while “We” are innocent of those things? Nope. No one group anywhere has a monopoly on any of these, regardless of what you hear almost everywhere nowadays. I’ve had some fascinating experiences recently on Facebook. I - [Drawing circles](https://markmcmillion.com/drawing-circles/) - I don’t know about you but some of the times I’ve felt the most hurt in my life have been when I’ve felt rejected and not welcomed in the fellowship of others. Conversely, some of the most encouraging and heartfelt moments have been when others opened their arms and lives to invite me and include - [Jonathan, son of Saul](https://markmcmillion.com/jonathan-son-saul/) - Real heroes don’t often get the credit for their heroism in this world. But God has a great big book and He’s writing it all down, the good as well as the wrong. Jonathan, son of King Saul has always seemed to me one of the greatest heroes in the Bible. But you seldom hear - [“When the enemy shall come in like a flood…”](https://markmcmillion.com/enemy-shall-come-like-flood/) - Years ago there was a popular thing people said, “The Devil made me do it.” It had shock value at the time. But, folks, it’s a LIE. The Devil can’t “make” you do anything. He can tempt you, he can provoke you or try to convince you. But he can’t make you do anything. You - [Living by faith that God will supply all your needs](https://markmcmillion.com/living-faith-god-will-supply-needs-2/) - For those in Christian missionary work, you sometimes hear them speak of “living by faith.” This usually has an economic meaning. The Scriptural principle behind it is that if you’re “seeking first the Kingdom of God” as Jesus said, then “all these things shall be added unto you.” (Matthew 6:33) Another well known verse that’s - [Be of good cheer and go](https://markmcmillion.com/good-cheer-go/) - I was looking to the Lord and telling the Lord how I need Him. I told Him I needed His friendship and then I said I needed His cheerfulness. That surprised me a little. But then I thought of when He said to His disciples, “Be of good cheer, it is I; be not afraid.” - [“By Long Forbearing Is A Prince Persuaded”](https://markmcmillion.com/long-forbearing-prince-persuaded/) - I don’t know of any single verse you can share with a loved one that will bring them to the Lord. Most likely many of these ones have already “heard it all” and some folks can quote Scripture as good or better than you can. But still they don’t really believe it or take it - [Grudges](https://markmcmillion.com/grudges/) - Do you have a grudge? Against someone, something, even against God? Universities don’t have classes on Grudges 101. Politics won’t solve this. It’s another one of those hideous, hellish, often fatal proclivities of human beings worldwide: to be naturally inclined to harbor and hold grudges. A grudge is the opposite of forgiveness and it's a deadly - [Isn’t God Enough?](https://markmcmillion.com/isnt-god-enough/) - There was a 7 month period of time when I strongly and sincerely believed in God, but I just didn’t know who Jesus was. I wrote about my experience in "Lucifer and the White Moths" where I very nearly died and was carried by Satan into the spirit world to be his. But by the - [Reason? Or the Miraculous](https://markmcmillion.com/reason-or-the-miraculous/) - Don’t get me wrong, I’m not against reason. Isaiah 1:19 says, “Come, let us reason together" says the Lord. And it says that Paul “reasoned” with the Roman governor, Felix (Acts 24:25). But let’s face it, the devil has gotten in somewhere with the whole thing about “reason” in more modern times. Because it seems - [Did Jesus Christ “Confirm the Covenant”?](https://markmcmillion.com/jesus-christ-confirm-covenant/) - I generally try to address a wide audience on matters easily understood. But here I’m going to write about something that only a relatively few people are aware of. It has to do with the intricacies of Daniel 9:27 and how that verse has, or has not, already been fulfilled. This is one of the most - [The God of Abraham](https://markmcmillion.com/the-god-of-abraham/) - In the videos I’ve done and in these posts, I’ve spoken of “the God of Abraham”. And some have questioned, “Why did you use that phrase? Why not just say God? Or Jehovah?” I guess, if you want to talk about a huge subject, you can talk about God. Or the name of God. I - [Visiting Syria (part 1)](https://markmcmillion.com/visiting-syria-part-1/) - I should be clear that I didn’t visit the geographic nation of Syria. I was in a large town, just on the border, as seen in this picture. But there are over 3 million Syrian refugees living outside their country now. So in visiting a place where the majority of the city was Syrian refugees, - [Should we forget the past?](https://markmcmillion.com/should-we-forget-the-past/) - Someone just told me I should write about forgetting the past. Should we? Especially the really sad, rough, ungodly things that others did to us? Let’s face it: it’s easier said than done. Of course forgiveness is the key but it may not be the only one. I guess some folks who don’t have the - [Soft heart, tough spirit](https://markmcmillion.com/soft-heart-tough-spirit/) - Life is just full of contradictions. And it seems like, for believers, there are contradictions at times too. Some famous skeptics even wrote books about what they said they saw as contradictions in the Bible. But how about when, on the one hand, we’re told to be soft hearted and humble, and then it turns - [German Video: “Das Buch Daniel, 2. This chapter is considered by scholars of almost all faiths to be the briefest and most concise overall picture of the history and future of the world in the entire Bible. Daniel chapter 2 is like - [Cannot come down](https://markmcmillion.com/cannot-come-down/) - Nehemiah said to his sly enemies from the walls of Jerusalem. “I am doing a great work and cannot come down. Why should I come down to you and the work cease?” (Nehemiah 6:3) It probably sounded unreasonable, extreme, perhaps unsociable. But Nehemiah was not only filled with a vision and conviction about what he - [Addictions](https://markmcmillion.com/addictions/) - I was a drug addict. It was a long time ago and I got delivered but still, it was a major part of my life. And in these times it seems to be more and more a scourge on society worldwide. I just got word now of a friend whose son died last night of - [God Is Light](https://markmcmillion.com/god-is-light/) - I was 21 years old in Houston, Texas. It was a cold day in early February and I'd hitchhiked there to try to find some “Jesus People” I’d read about in the newspaper. The article said they believed in God and in Jesus and in the Old Testament and the New Testament. I’d believed in - [7 Ways to Know the Will of God](https://markmcmillion.com/7-ways-to-know-the-will-of-god/) - Someone wrote me, “How do I hear from God? How do I know His will?" Interesting question and one almost all of us have. I was thinking about that again this morning when I read that the first thing, the prerequisite for finding the will of God, is to have no will of your own. - [I believe in Truth](https://markmcmillion.com/i-believe-in-truth/) - A lot of people today are so skeptical that they hardly believe anything is true. To me that’s pitiful. Maybe it’s because I grew up around newspapers and worked for two years in the newsroom of a large daily newspaper here in Texas that I just feel, for the most part, all the news is - [Redeeming the time because the days are evil](https://markmcmillion.com/redeeming-time-days-evil/) - What does the Bible mean, “Redeeming the time because the days are evil”? (Ephesians 5:16) Actually there are so many deep truths in the Bible, often wrapped up in just a few brief words. This here is one of the really good examples of this. It’s not even exclusively a Christian truth or teaching. You - [Chastening and Judgment](https://markmcmillion.com/chastening-and-judgment/) - Chastening and judgment? Who wants to read about that?! Most of us would rather go eat a cookie. But… but that’s where quite a lot of things suddenly come into play. It turns out that, in life, most of us find that we end up more enhanced and matured through the experiences we learn, often - [On human love and affection](https://markmcmillion.com/human-love-affection/) - One of the things I’m most thankful for is how the Lord has helped me over the years to become a more well-rounded, healthy-hearted human being. Becoming the kind of “normal” that’s no longer normal has been a goal of mine. Being warm, free, real, genuine, “without guile”, things like these were what I would - [“When he came to himself…”](https://markmcmillion.com/when-he-came-to-himself/) - It says of the Prodigal son, “When he came to himself he said… ‘I will arise and go to my father and say unto him, ‘Father I have sinned against heaven and in your sight.’” (Luke 15:17). I think that today those words have had more meaning for me than they’ve almost ever had. Because - [Indonesian Video: “Kitab Daniel Pasal 2”](https://markmcmillion.com/indonesian-video-kitab-daniel-pasal-2/) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PyBpf6UmFI&t=45s I’ve been able to complete in Indonesian the second video in the Prophecies of Daniel series, Daniel Chapter 2. Daniel chapter 2 is like - [Living by faith that God will supply all your needs](https://markmcmillion.com/living-faith-god-will-supply-needs/) - For those serving the Lord in mission work, you sometimes hear them speak of “living by faith.” This usually has an economic meaning. The Scriptural principle behind it is that if you’re “seeking first the Kingdom of God” as Jesus said, then “all these things shall be added unto you.” (Matthew 6:33) Another well known - [Keep your heart](https://markmcmillion.com/keep-your-heart/) - King Solomon wrote, “Keep your heart with all diligence for out of it are the issues of life.” (Proverbs 4:23) A more modern English version says “guard your heart”, rather than “keep”. So I’m thinking, “What if someone told me that Bible verse back when I was 18 years old?” I was an atheist so - [Born This Way](https://markmcmillion.com/born-this-way/) - It’s incredible how human beings can come up with excuses for sin. It says in the Bible, “There are many devices in a man’s heart, nevertheless the council of God stands assured”. (Proverbs 19:21) A popular phrase nowadays is “I was born this way.” If that excuse would stand, then it should be the literal - [“Mark, you said sadness is a sin?”](https://markmcmillion.com/mark-said-sadness-sin/) - I recently started a blog post by saying that sadness is a sin. I got a couple of responses from two friends who disagreed with me. Actually most seemed to agree with the post but these two friends brought up some points. So perhaps others felt the same. For one, I hope that they didn’t - [Fascination for Evil](https://markmcmillion.com/fascination-for-evil/) - I've realized that at times I have a fascination for evil. Not that I want to do evil but it’s like people say nowadays, “What were they thinking?” Like, "How could they think like that? How could someone be like that?" I guess we all have an innate desire to understand. And for me, some - [Rampant, predatory males](https://markmcmillion.com/rampant-predatory-males/) - There’s a lot in the news about predatory males and a culture of rape. Doubtless, this is real but it’s hardly even news until some big shot really gets caught with his pants down. ( 🙂 ) But, you’re right, it’s no laughing matter at all. Cyberspace is abuzz with discussions about what can be done and who - [Sadness](https://markmcmillion.com/sadness/) - Sadness is one of the greatest of sins. It turns us from the heavenly vision and contradicts the promises of God. Hardly anything so strips us from the power of God as does sadness. Yet it seems so reasonable, so “normal”, so acceptable. Maybe that’s why it so successfully defeats so many of the people - [Left or Right, Vertical or Horizontal?](https://markmcmillion.com/left-right-vertical-horizontal/) - Everywhere you look, it seems like the extremes are winning. I grew up in a political family and there was always talk of “the Left” and “the Right”. I learned early the basics of what this meant in America. It’s difficult to make short definitions but the Left seemed to be more for government having - [Hearing from God, like your life depended on it](https://markmcmillion.com/hearing-from-god/) - Last month I was in a situation where it was desperately important that I heard from God right then. My friend and I were driving the next morning to visit a school in Reyhanli, Turkey, about 200 meters from the border with Syria. I wrote about this visit in my blog post “Visiting Syria part 1”. - [Falls Road, Belfast](https://markmcmillion.com/falls-road-belfast/) - I’ve just visited Northern Ireland, where bloody sectarian strife distressed that nation from 1968 to 1988. Fault lines between Catholics and Protestants go back hundreds of years there, exacerbated by British rule over Ireland and just a history of deep discord between faiths and peoples. The good news is that the bombings and carnage that - [At the Green Line in Beirut](https://markmcmillion.com/green-line-beirut/) - Yesterday I had lunch next to the Green Line in Beirut, Lebanon. The Green Line was the boundary that divided Beirut during the civil war here from 1975 to 1990 between Muslim, Christian and other factions. A large street was next to the outdoor restaurant and my friends said the French ambassador had been killed - [“The Whites of Their Eyes”](https://markmcmillion.com/the-whites-of-their-eyes/) - There used to be an old saying, “Don’t shoot till you see the whites of their eyes!” The idea was that you don’t shoot your gun till the target is close enough that you can actually see what you’re shooting at. Maybe that was what was said by military commanders 200 years ago or so. And - [Does God use organizations? Or individuals?](https://markmcmillion.com/god-use-organizations-individuals/) - Ever wondered how God works best, with a group of organized individuals? Or with individuals alone? It does kind of mater. Should we endeavor to find a group of like-minded folks who share the same vision, goals and understanding of the Lord as we have? Or should we concentrate on our personal relationship with the - [In Indonesia, after 10 years](https://markmcmillion.com/indonesia-10-years/) - I’ve been in Jakarta for over a week now, where I lived between 2003 and 2008. There’s just something Godly about genuine outgoing concern for others that’s expressed in - [Getting around in Istanbul](https://markmcmillion.com/getting-around-istanbul/) - I’m back in Istanbul again; it’s really an interesting place. I don’t come here as a tourist and the things I have come here for have been going very well. (Part 2)](https://markmcmillion.com/raised-racist-part-2/) - If anyone tries to tell you, “Oh, it really wasn’t so bad in the South”, I can tell you from experience, yes it was. Not really. For those who are following the Lord, not just only believing in Him, there are certainly times - [“Let not your heart be troubled”](https://markmcmillion.com/let-not-heart-troubled/) - Jesus told His disciples, “Let not your heart be troubled." (John 14:1) You mean it’s up to us to keep a calm heart? We have some control and responsibility over the state of our heart? Yep. That might be a surprise to some. Because it seems that often people think that our thoughts and emotions - [Four months abroad](https://markmcmillion.com/four-months-abroad/) - I’ve just gotten back to my base in Texas from a rather amazing 4 months abroad, in Africa and Europe. Some of you will know that I left the US back in October, mainly to do a series of recordings in languages around Europe of the prophecies of Daniel video series that I’ve had in - [Familiarity](https://markmcmillion.com/familiarity/) - Here’s a question for you, “Is familiarity good or bad?” “Um, Mark, that’s a trick question, isn’t it?” You’re right, it is. Because it pretty much depends on how you define familiarity. It can be good when we are getting familiar with a situation or even with people we know so that we’re more at - [One hundredfold, now in this time](https://markmcmillion.com/one-hundredfold-now-in-this-time/) - Sometimes we think life is really rough and then the Lord comes along and just “blows our mind”, as people used to say. We’re grimly armed for battles and to survive the worst we think will come. And then, almost out of nowhere, the Lord “pours out a blessing that there isn’t room enough to - [“Lift up now your eyes”](https://markmcmillion.com/lift-up-now-your-eyes/) - God sometimes tells people what to do, often in fact. And He’s still doing that today, although you don’t hear much about that in most churches. One of the most famous times this happened was when God spoke to Abraham, 4000 years ago. Did Abraham obey? Well, yes, mostly. But in this case, it seems - [The Rapture](https://markmcmillion.com/the-rapture/) - One of the principle beliefs of Christians for 2000 years is that Jesus of Nazareth will return to this world to rule it as the Son of God and God-ordained King of Heaven. This is a clear and essential belief of Bible-based Christianity. In fact, Jesus spoke repeatedly about this and at least two whole - [Italian video: “Un’introduzione alla profezia nella storia”](https://markmcmillion.com/italian-video-unintroduzione-alla-profezia-nella-storia/) - https://youtu.be/wptqJaIfBu4 I’ve been able to complete the first video in Italian of the Prophecies of Daniel series, “Un’introduzione alla profezia nella storia”. Many people don’t know what Bible prophecy is. I certainly didn’t until I had a big change in my life when I found out that God is real and the spiritual world really - [Cast your bread upon the waters](https://markmcmillion.com/cast-your-bread-upon-the-waters/) - What do you think about when you think of the God of the Bible? Love? That sounds right. But how is love actually shown or seen? I think one of the clearest ways is in kindness and generosity. There’s just so much in the Bible about giving and sharing, from cover to cover. Jesus said, - [Fighting the fight of faith](https://markmcmillion.com/fighting-the-fight-of-faith/) - Let’s say you are determined to go forward for the Lord. Maybe you're determined to share your faith more with others. Maybe you're determined to get the victory over some “besetting sin” (Hebrews 12:1) in your life, alcoholism, gluttony, lethargy, materialism or whatever. But you’ve set your face to go forward to greater obedience, to - [French video: “Le livre de Daniel chapitre 2”](https://markmcmillion.com/french-video-le-livre-de-daniel-chapitre-2/) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOzWoF0NvE4 I’ve been able to complete in French the second video in the Prophecies of Daniel series, Daniel Chapter 2. This chapter is considered by scholars of almost all faiths to be the briefest and most concise overall picture of the history and future of the world in the entire Bible. Daniel chapter 2 is like - [Knowing](https://markmcmillion.com/knowing/) - Words are kind of funny, kind of deep. You know what I mean? Take “knowing” for example. You can say you “believe” something but when you say you know something, it’s similar but also really different. And both of those words occupy a very prominent place in the Bible. Probably the most famous verse in - [Sharing your faith and seeing miracles](https://markmcmillion.com/sharing-your-faith-and-seeing-miracles/) - Sharing our faith with those who don’t know the Lord is not only “the Great Commission”, it’s an incredible way to experience the thrills of heaven and be right immediately where miracles of God happen. It’s a crying shame that so few Christians regularly share their faith with others, or “witness”, as it is called. - [Letting the Word be our prayer](https://markmcmillion.com/letting-the-word-be-our-prayer/) - You yourself can become your own worst distraction. You’re trying to go to the Lord in prayer and then suddenly you notice that your shoe lace is loose. Then there’s a beautiful bird that flies by. And then you’re a little hungry. “Oh, wait! I’m supposed to be praying!” Ever had that happen? Is there - [Italian video “Il libro di Daniele -secondo capitolo”](https://markmcmillion.com/italian-video-il-libro-di-daniele-secondo-capitolo/) - I’ve completed the Italian version of the Daniel chapter 2 video. Daniel Chapter 2 is the briefest, most concise picture of the history and future of the world in the entire Bible. I’ve found it to be the easiest way to introduce beginners to the phenomenon of fulfilled prophecy. The next video being worked on - [“Is it not a little one?”](https://markmcmillion.com/is-it-not-a-little-one/) - Lot had just been rescued and delivered from the fiery judgments of God which He had rained down on Sodom and Gomorrah. Lot, his wife and two daughters had to be led by the hand out of Sodom, being warned by the angels to not even look back. Famously, Lot’s wife did look back and - [How to say no to Satan](https://markmcmillion.com/how-to-say-no-to-satan/) - If we’re honest, we know there’s a lot about us that isn’t as it should be or the way we want. Admittedly, it can get to be discouraging. And then, often, along comes the devil. It may surprise you to know that the devil can tell you a lot of truth about yourself that’s horrible, - [Dominoes](https://markmcmillion.com/dominoes/) - Have you ever seen a picture of dominoes falling? One domino after the other hits the one next to it and hundreds or even thousands of dominoes fall simultaneously. It’s always had a meaning for me. Sadly, not always a good one. The Bible says, “One sinner destroys much good” ( Ecclesiastes 9:18). We all - [What Is A Conscience?](https://markmcmillion.com/what-is-a-conscience/) - I got an interesting letter from a friend in Romania, telling me that someone had told him that our conscience is virtually a hindrance and a counterfeit of the presence of God. So he was asking me what actually our conscience is and where it might fit into the plan of God and God’s Word. - [“UP AGAINST THE WALL!!”](https://markmcmillion.com/up-against-the-wall/) - Would God do a miracle for an unbeliever? An atheist? Jesus said that God “sends the rain on the just and the unjust” (Matthew 5:44) He certainly did a miracle for me that kept me out of 2 years of prison at a time when I was really not a believer. Here’s what happened. While - [A tender heart](https://markmcmillion.com/a-tender-heart/) - It was a continual source of embarrassment for me, growing up, that I would from time to time cry. Young men in Texas just didn’t cry; in fact men overall just didn’t cry. It was a serious sign of weakness and a lack of manliness. But I was appalled with myself, as I became a - [New Wine and Old Bottles](https://markmcmillion.com/new-wine-and-old-bottles/) - A common phrase or term on the mission field was “old bottles and new bottles” and “old wine and new wine” (Luke 5:37-39). But it seems that most Christians I meet here are unfamiliar with these terms. They come directly from Jesus and really contain some amazing, important truths. The goal for each believer is - [Bite Now, Chew Later](https://markmcmillion.com/bite-now-chew-later/) - Life is full of decisions. And it actually happens that those decisions, sometimes very major ones, can come down to a brief moment when some opportunity presents itself and you have to make that decision, right then, not later. It can be in a romance, it can be in your career, it can be in - [French video: “Introduction à la prophétie biblique dans l'Histoire”](https://markmcmillion.com/french-video-introduction-a-la-prophetie-biblique-dans-lhistoire/) - https://youtu.be/2Pue3cAjFho I’ve been able to complete the first video in French of the Prophecies of Daniel series, “Introduction à la prophétie biblique dans l'Histoire”. (Psalm 68:6) But often for those who long for the higher road in this life of Christian discipleship, it can be a lonely trek. It breaks my heart at times when I hear of ones who truly seek to not only be a Christian but to also take up - [Smart](https://markmcmillion.com/smart/) - Some people are just smart. They really are. You can feel it from the way they talk and communicate. Maybe they’ve been to school a lot or maybe they are self taught. But you just hear all that erudition, all that knowledge, all that evident enlightenment every time they speak. But sometimes there’s a problem - [They began to make excuse](https://markmcmillion.com/they-began-to-make-excuse/) - Sometimes delayed obedience can become total disobedience if prolonged too long. And, let’s face it, obedience is really what the Lord wants and needs from us. And yet, doesn’t this fly in the face of we modern people? “Obedience? Who does He think He is?!” But when we pause to answer our own question, if - [They that walk in pride...](https://markmcmillion.com/they-that-walk-in-pride/) - Nebuchadnezzar must have been an amazing person. It seems like the fourth chapter of the book of Daniel was basically written by him. It’s an incredible story of how this virtual “ruler of the world” at that time essential went crazy for 7 years but then came back to his senses through the allowance of - [Black and White](https://markmcmillion.com/black-and-white/) - Don’t you just wish things were more black and white? When I was a kid, there were (what seemed to be) the really good guys and the really bad guys. Of course we were the good guys; there was no question about that :) . But then things really began to blur, you know what - [Spiritual habits (Part 1) The heavenly vision](https://markmcmillion.com/spiritual-habits-part-1-the-heavenly-vision/) - I’d just finished my time of personal devotions this morning when I got one of those nudges from the Lord that I should write a blog post on spiritual habits. What a huge subject. Here in America so many people are very aware of maintaining healthy physical habits. But I wonder how many are equally - [The princess and the pea](https://markmcmillion.com/the-princess-and-the-pea/) - Ever heard the story about the prince who was trying to find a wife? So the story goes, he made a stack of mattresses, 100 tall. Then he put a tiny pea underneath them at the bottom. Next he had a try out for his princess, bringing one candidate after the other to see how - [Is God like Helium? Or Hydrogen?](https://markmcmillion.com/is-god-like-helium-or-hydrogen/) - I was talking with someone about the many crises the world is in now. We agreed on a lot about the dire straits that are these times and the likely increase in the dangers soon to come politically and environmentally. But as the conversation got gloomier and more forebodingly hopeless, I spoke up to say - [Trembling at the Word](https://markmcmillion.com/trembling-at-the-word/) - As many know, there’s just a lot more going on in this world than meets the eye. Forces, influences, impressions, nudges, just a cloud of unseen pressures and powers have sway over us in ways we often don’t even realize. One of those that perhaps very many don’t even know about is what is called - [“With what body do they come?”](https://markmcmillion.com/with-what-body-do-they-come/) - A friend wrote me to ask, “Why is a resurrection necessary if those who died in Christ have already gone to be with the Lord?” So I wrote back, “The best answer I know of is that God’s plan is that we have new bodies like the Lord had after His resurrection. That’s what I - [Thimbles](https://markmcmillion.com/thimbles/) - You don’t hear much about thimbles anymore. Possibly a lot of younger people don’t even know what one is. But thimbles came to mind tonight when I was thinking about how utterly vast is the Lord’s ocean of truth, revelation, beauty, His whole indescribable universe of the spiritual world He created and lives in, and - [Spiritualizing Prophecy](https://markmcmillion.com/spiritualizing-prophecy/) - Sometimes things really are simple. So it might sound complicated if I write something about spiritualizing prophecy. Isn’t prophecy by definition spiritual? Doesn’t the prophecy we study come from the Spirit of God? Of course. So I’ll explain. What I mean when I speak against what I’ve called “spiritualizing prophecy” is when someone spiritualizes what - [The French Resistance](https://markmcmillion.com/the-french-resistance/) - Last night I talked with a man who was a commander as a teenager of French resistance forces during World War II. Now in his 90’s, he was a young student when war broke out in 1939. It was fascinating to hear his stories of those times and how he ended up working in the - [Truth](https://markmcmillion.com/truth/) - I was an atheist from the time I was 12 till I was nearly 21. An atheist who “shared my faith”. If I found any Christian (usually Protestant) friends during that time who had any conviction to stand up for their faith, I just loved to tie into them with all the good reasons why - [Surrendering Truth?](https://markmcmillion.com/surrendering-truth/) - As I have written elsewhere, truth has always been important to me. I’ve told you before that as a young person, I didn’t believe in God but I did believe in and was searching for truth. It’s still the same for me. So it grieves me to hear of those today who seem to have - [Serving God or Mammon](https://markmcmillion.com/serving-god-or-mammon/) - One of the more striking and perhaps perplexing things that Jesus said was this: “No man can serve two masters for he will either hate the one and love the other or else he will hold to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and Mammon.” (Matthew 6:24) Determining how that plays - [Live class audio on Daniel chapter 11:31 to 12:13](https://markmcmillion.com/live-class-audio-on-daniel-chapter-1131-to-1213/) - In Texas in October I was able to complete the final live class in the series I’ve been doing with Sunday school friends there on the book of Daniel. The live class audio on Daniel 11:31 to 12:13 can be heard here. I guess, with all the fears and foolishness that weigh on our weary - [Budapest Stories](https://markmcmillion.com/budapest-stories/) - Presently I’m in Budapest, Hungary to do recordings of some of the prophecies of Daniel videos that I’ve done in English. Through the years, I’ve lived for perhaps a total of 5 years in this interesting central European capital and I consider this country to be one of my favorites that I’ve been in. Tonight - [They that will not work…](https://markmcmillion.com/they-that-will-not-work/) - I’m having an amazing time in South Africa, there’s a lot to tell you. This post will mainly be about a story I heard of an 80 year old woman who is poor herself but ministers to the poor in one of the “townships” here, as they are called. I think another word that fits - [The council of Ahithophel](https://markmcmillion.com/the-council-of-ahitolphel/) - There are things in the Bible that even dedicated Christians have possibly never read. One thing like that is the somewhat strange story of the time in King David’s life when his son, Absalom, led a rebellion against his father which was very nearly successful. And actually this rebellion was allowed or brought on by - [History, prophets and progress](https://markmcmillion.com/history-prophets-and-progress/) - I read a lot of history, basically almost every night. Most of it is in relation to the history of Christianity and faith over the last 2000 years. It fascinates me. I’ve already written elsewhere about Saint Patrick, one of the most influential people in the history of Europe and certainly of the Irish and - [Working in an HIV Seminar in South Africa](https://markmcmillion.com/working-in-an-hiv-seminar-in-south-africa/) - I’ve been in Durban, South Africa for over a week and it’s been wonderful. I never saw this coming, never foresaw a time I’d be in this part of the world but it has gone really well. I know several people here from my times in Europe. One dear friend is Andras Namenyi, a Hungarian - [Buckruds or Huvrumps](https://markmcmillion.com/buckruds-or-huvrumps/) - You need to buy a car and your choice is between a Buckrud or a Huvrump. You like Buckruds or at least you know of some things that would tilt you that way. But currently the main thing you virtually only hear from the Buckrud company is just how utterly bad Huvrumps are. “They Are - [You you](https://markmcmillion.com/you-you/) - Here’s a question for you: are things simple or complicated? If your answer is “Yes”, I think you’re right. Take something as simple as “Who are you?” Is there a simple answer to that? Of course, “I am me.” But then it gets complicated. And a lot of us can really get almost confused at - [Daniel 11: verses 1 to 35 live class audio](https://markmcmillion.com/daniel-11-verses-1-to-35-live-class-audio/) - We continued, last Sunday, the Bible study I’ve been doing with friends at an adult Sunday school class on the book of the prophet Daniel. This time we went over perhaps the most difficult but also significant passage in Daniel, chapter 11. I took some time in prayer the night before to really look to - [Daniel chapter 10 live class audio](https://markmcmillion.com/daniel-chapter-10-live-class-audio/) - Last Sunday I shared a class on Daniel chapter 10 with an adult Sunday school group I attend in Austin, Texas. I made an audio recording of the class and an edited 35 minute version of it can be heard here. In the class we have been going through the prophets in the Old Testament - [Text to “The Last 7 Years” video](https://markmcmillion.com/text-to-the-last-7-years-video/) - [This is the text to the video “Daniel 9:27—The Last 7 Years”. To view this video, click here. Also, this blog post is longer than normal.] Hi again, I’m Mark. This video is going to be different from the ones I’ve done before. Up till now, the videos have mostly been about prophecies that have - [The Last shall be First](https://markmcmillion.com/the-last-shall-be-first/) - Sometimes life is kind of funny, amazing and strange; you know what I mean? It’s like where Jesus said “Many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.” (Matthew 19:30) You think you’re on top and have arrived and then, oops! It all turns to ashes and it seems you’re left - [“Don’t ever ask again.”](https://markmcmillion.com/dont-ever-ask-again/) - I was 20 years old, kneeling on the floor of my apartment in the dark at 3 AM, overwhelmed with emotion. As I wrote about in "The Radio Miracle", I’d just had a completely amazing answer to prayer, in response to my utter desperation to try to find out if God was really there. Out - [Consumer, Citizen or Disciple?](https://markmcmillion.com/consumer-citizen-or-disciple/) - People in America nowadays are often referred to as “consumers”. That sort of bothers me. When I read in history books about how folks in times past thought, it doesn’t seem like they viewed humanity as consumers. Certainly I didn’t get that feeling from my grandparents and their families. If you go a little back - [“No man knows the day and hour”](https://markmcmillion.com/no-man-knows-the-day-and-hour/) - If you are a student of the future events predicted in the Bible, you’ve almost certainly heard the verse quoted, “No man knows the day and the hour” (Matthew 24:36). My experience is that this is often brought up by folks who want to negate the revealed plan of the future that Bible prophecy presents. - [Pickpockets](https://markmcmillion.com/pickpockets/) - I was at the Kiev train station two weeks ago, taking an early morning train back to eastern Ukraine. I hadn’t slept much the night before and I was in a bit of a rush to get to my place on the train before it left the station. There were a lot of people on - [Pain and suffering](https://markmcmillion.com/pain-and-suffering/) - I’ve had an interesting week. On Wednesday I had 5 hours of surgery on my right shoulder to repair a tendon I ruptured 8 months ago. I’d never had surgery before and almost never needed to go to a hospital til now. So it was all very new to me. I’ll pick up with what happened - ["Neither have I desired the woeful day"](https://markmcmillion.com/neither-have-i-desired-the-woeful-day/) - The prophet Jeremiah knew he would see the day when it was all going to happen. He wasn’t prophesying something for the centuries to come; he knew this was it. God was about to bring His powerful judgments on backslidden Israel. And Jeremiah suffered terribly for the message of judgment and doom he gave to - [Walk in Newness of Life](https://markmcmillion.com/walk-in-newness-of-life/) - A few days ago I got a note from a dear Christian man in India. He wrote to ask me, “Pastor, Jesus has said, "All those who do not repent will perish". So which are the sins we have to repent for? Should we repent for breaking the Ten Commandments of the Old Testament or - [Distracted](https://markmcmillion.com/distracted/) - I was trying to have my morning prayer time, something I often do by going out somewhere in nature. But this morning, as has happened at other times, it was a real battle to focus on prayer and not to be distracted. I’ve recently moved and now am able to go out in a secluded - [Turning Back](https://markmcmillion.com/turning-back/) - There is an incredible joy in becoming a Christian, I certainly experienced that and continue to experience it. But most of us know that there also can be some serious times of difficulty, challenges and even wrenching heartbreaks that come in our life along the road of faith. One of the heartbreaks that I’ve experienced - [The stones would cry out](https://markmcmillion.com/the-stones-would-cry-out/) - Jesus had taught, healed and preached throughout Israel for 3 years. As He neared Jerusalem, His disciples brought a young donkey to Him and sat Jesus on the donkey. Then, as they approached Jerusalem, the Bible says,“And when He had come near the descent of the Mount of Olives, all the multitude of the disciples - [“Happy Is That People”](https://markmcmillion.com/happy-is-that-people/) - Jesus said, “Your joy no man takes from you.” (John 16:22) But we sure don’t feel that way all the time, do we? Happiness and joy can often seem pretty elusive. Is it confession time here? Maybe. I often have to pray against sadness. It just seems to spring up in me like some besetting - ["Famous Failures of Prophetic Interpretation"](https://markmcmillion.com/famous-failures-of-prophetic-interpretation-2/) - I guess everyone has heard about times in history when someone has pointed out something they thought was just about to happen, because they felt Biblical prophecy was just about to be fulfilled. That happened one time as a direct result of misunderstanding something that’s in Daniel chapter 8. (This article is the text of - [Daniel First](https://markmcmillion.com/daniel-first/) - If you were going to build a house, would you start by putting shingles or tile on the roof? Would you start by painting or by putting in the windows? Of course not. But the sad state of prophetic teaching about the endtime by so many Bible teachers seems to go that direction. And sometimes - [Freedom](https://markmcmillion.com/freedom/) - I’ve had a conversation with a new friend and some of it has been about freedom. My gosh, what a subject. Are you free? Free from what? How can we tell? How can we measure and quantify freedom? Everybody talks about it, most everybody wants it, a few people say they have it and some - [Saying no to God](https://markmcmillion.com/saying-no-to-god/) - How do you feel about the great heroes of the Bible? Elijah in towering power, calling down the fire of God on Mount Carmel. Moses in majesty, leading the Hebrews through the Red Sea on dry ground. Every felt like you could do that? Nah. Well, I was in a Sunday school class last week - [Memperkenalkan Nubuatan Di Dalam Sejarah (Indonesian)](https://markmcmillion.com/memperkenalkan-nubuatan-di-dalam-sejarah-indonesian/) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_HXoLPklpE Bahasa Indonesia Video pertama dari rangkaian Nubuatan nabi Daniel sudah selesai. Saya juga tidak tahu sampai suatu perubahan besar terjadi dalam hidup saya ketika saya mendapati bahwa - [Processing and Refining](https://markmcmillion.com/processing-and-refining/) - I got an interesting response from someone regarding what I wrote about “Convicted”. It was sincerely written, nothing sarcastic or combative to it. Her first sentence said, “Conviction, reprobate etc seem to come from a judgmental mentality. I think that was done away with, with the message of love and compassion.” That’s an interesting way - [Weeping for Saul](https://markmcmillion.com/weeping-for-saul/) - Is it ever wrong to pray? The Bible says, “Pray without ceasing” (I Thessalonians 5:17), so it would seem you could just about say that it’s never wrong to pray. But there are examples in the Bible where men of God were praying and the Lord told them that what they were praying for was - [Pilot lights](https://markmcmillion.com/pilot-lights/) - Have you ever had someone get something from the Lord for you? Maybe they had a dream about you or some verse came to them that was just the word of the Lord for you? It doesn’t happen all the time and probably we can quickly get too much of something like that, it can - [“I have my doubts.”](https://markmcmillion.com/i-have-my-doubts/) - You hear folks say that sometimes, “I have my doubts.” And nobody says anything about it, it’s as normal as can be. But how about that? If you profess to believe in the God of three faiths, then you probably know that doubts, at least some kinds of doubts, are not just something to slough - [Compression](https://markmcmillion.com/compression/) - Years ago I lived in northern Italy for 4 months. It was a very interesting time. I was working together with Christian friends who had a very wealthy Italian businessman who wanted to help and support them. (And to all my Italian friends, in case I say something wrong in any of this, please forgive - [Angel Story 1: Lucifer and the White Moths](https://markmcmillion.com/angel-story-1-lucifer-and-the-white-moths/) - The first experience I had with an angel is one I probably won’t relate right here and now. It was the most traumatic and basically indescribable. Sadly but righteously, it was with Lucifer. He came to claim me, as was his right at that point in my life. I won’t relate it all here as - [Convicted](https://markmcmillion.com/convicted/) - The word “convicted” is not quite in the same category as some of the other words that have recently come to mind for me. “Worship”, “repentance”, “sin”, those words have little or no modern usage except for those who are Christian. But you do hear about “convicted”. The only problem is, it’s almost always something - [Left, Right and Center](https://markmcmillion.com/left-right-and-center/) - As probably everyone knows, the big news is that the British people have voted in a referendum to exit the European Union, “Brexit”, as it’s called. It’s a pretty big deal if you’re European and of course especially if you are British. The vote was followed last night almost like it was a general election - [Пророчества в истории (Russian)](https://markmcmillion.com/пророчества-в-истории-russian/) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=APwrDLAIWlY русский На русском языке я сделал пока одну из серии передач о пророчествах библейского пророка Даниила. Эта передача на английском называется «Пророчества в истории. Введение». Здесь вы можете посмотреть её на английском языке. Многие люди не знают, что такое библейские пророчества. Я тоже не знал, пока в моей жизни не произошла большая перемена – - [What is sin?](https://markmcmillion.com/what-is-sin/) - Years ago a dear loved one asked me, “What is sin?” Unfortunately, the question was more of a challenge about if there was even such a thing as sin. And certainly, in our “modern world”, the idea of sin is ridiculed and usually rejected out of hand. But, is there such a thing as sin? - ["…and you are still?"](https://markmcmillion.com/and-you-are-still/) - This morning I found a verse that I've never noticed before but which really resonates for our times. It’s about “the promised land”. Specifically it refers to events from over 3000 years ago but its significance to us Christians today couldn’t be more important. No, this won’t be about Jewish settlements in the West Bank but - [Spiritual habits (Part 4) Memorizing God’s Word](https://markmcmillion.com/spiritual-habits-part-4-memorizing-gods-word/) - I’d been a Christian for about a year when I was at a meeting of young people on a Saturday night. A friend of mine called me up in front of these 100 people, put his hand on my shoulder and looking out at everyone, said, “I just want you to see the results of - [What’s it to you?](https://markmcmillion.com/whats-it-to-you/) - Have you ever said that to someone, “What’s it to you?” Or maybe someone’s said that to you? It’s usually not considered a real warm, friendly way to talk to someone. But Jesus said that one time to Peter, one of His top disciples. Why would Jesus talk like that to someone? Let’s look at - [Worship](https://markmcmillion.com/worship/) - Worship. How can you make sense of that? Well, maybe someone might say to their wife or husband sometime, “I worship you.” But that would be pretty extreme. Mostly we’d be fine with just saying “I love you” to them, that’s going pretty far already. A dear friend sent me a letter and blog article about this. - [Afterwards Build Your House](https://markmcmillion.com/afterwards-build-your-house/) - In my early years as a Christian, someone shared a Bible verse that has always stuck with me. “Prepare your work without and make it fit for yourself in the field, and afterwards build your house.” (Proverbs 24:27) This isn’t really an admonition to farmers and ranchers. But - [Tales from Trondheim (Part 1)](https://markmcmillion.com/tales-from-trondheim-part-1/) - My former wife is from Norway and when we’d been married less than a year, we were living in Trondheim, Norway. In the winter, the sun comes up at 10 in the morning and goes down at 2 in the afternoon, whereas down south in Oslo it comes up at 9 and goes down at - [The story and pictures from Bulgaria](https://markmcmillion.com/the-story-and-pictures-from-bulgaria-2/) - Of the three countries I have been in recently, the one where there’s been the most to do in the way of teaching and ministering has been in Bulgaria. So I think it would be interesting for many of you if I shared more of the main thing I was doing there and also include - [“Fleeing into the wilderness”… in Bulgaria](https://markmcmillion.com/fleeing-into-the-wilderness-in-bulgaria/) - During my recent trip, an intriguing verse came to mind about where I was in Bulgaria and it’s possible place in the future, especially related to the events prophesied to come before the return of Jesus. A few of you know this verse well but probably most will have little or no idea what it - [Work? Or Prayer...in Bulgaria](https://markmcmillion.com/work-or-prayer-in-bulgaria/) - I’m in Bulgaria right now, such an interesting place and I’m having amazing experiences. I’ve been working with friends during the day to get a Bulgarian version of the first video I did on my series of videos on the prophecies of Daniel. Then at night I’ve been speaking at small churches and cell groups - [Putting Out To Sea](https://markmcmillion.com/putting-out-to-sea/) - Last month I had an interesting conversation with a young lady around 12 years old. She’s full of faith and, in some ways, wise beyond her years. And I felt inspired to tell her (thinking about how things can go between the ages of 13 and 21) that it’s a little like she’s in a - [Preserve the Pillars](https://markmcmillion.com/preserve-the-pillars/) - Holding on to our faith is paramount. Paul said, “Holding faith and a good conscience”. (I Timothy 1:19) Because a loss of faith can be a terrible, almost indescribable thing. I know because I went though it to the nth degree and was in profound despair when faced with the fact that I had nothing, - [Hell](https://markmcmillion.com/hell/) - Maybe I should write more about hell. I’m tempted to say, “If anyone could write about hell, it’s me”. I wrote an article about my experiences which ultimately brought me to faith in God, called “Lucifer and the White Moths”. It was perhaps the seminal experience of my life, in which Satan came to claim - [Speaking Truth to Evil](https://markmcmillion.com/speaking-truth-to-evil/) - I heard recently, “People need to see more heroes.” Well, here’s one, as far as I can see. She may not be “one of us”. But then that depends on how you see what “us” means. This is the kind of news you won’t see normally on American news media. But it shows us something - [Seeking Truth, without a spin](https://markmcmillion.com/seeking-truth-without-a-spin/) - All my life, truth has really been important to me. I haven’t believed in God all my life, but I have believed in and reverenced the truth. That’s one of the reasons why, when I came to God, the God of the Bible, it had such an overwhelming impact on me. Here was raw, pure - [“Get quickly out of Jerusalem”](https://markmcmillion.com/get-quickly-out-of-jerusalem/) - Sometimes I get some really interesting responses to the blog articles I write. Yesterday I published the article that goes with the live class on Acts 22. It’s a very moving chapter and has always been of interest to me. A major highpoint in the chapter is the moment when the Lord appears to Paul - [Heat to Light](https://markmcmillion.com/heat-to-light/) - So we were talking about the Middle East, about Islam and Islamic fighters, extremism and the phrase that was used back in the 70’s, “hearts and minds” came up. Yesterday on the national news a German reporter was telling about his experiences in the radical Muslim camps in the Middle East and how new volunteers - [Matches, when I was 5](https://markmcmillion.com/matches-when-i-was-5/) - I was 5 years old in Marlin, Texas. My parents both went to work every day so I was left alone with a “Negro maid”. I was pretty much on my own so I was out on my tricycle a lot, riding around the neighborhood and just checking things out. I guess it was summer - [La Profecía Bíblica de la Historia video](https://markmcmillion.com/la-profecia-biblica-de-la-historia-video-2/) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-d5TBhfarA Español Este video presenta el fenómeno de la profecía bíblica en la historia del antiguo Israel. Es el primer film producido sobre las profecías de Daniel. Muchas personas no saben qué es la profecía bíblica. Desde luego, yo no lo sabia hasta que tuve un gran cambio en mi vida. Descubrí que hay un mundo - [Conspiracy Theory and/or Bible Prophecy](https://markmcmillion.com/conspiracy-theory-andor-bible-prophecy/) - When John Kennedy was killed in Dallas, Texas, I was a young teenager, living 100 miles away. He was a major hero and role model to me and his death had a heavy impact on my heart and life. Later, as the info came out about the details of his death, it seemed clear to - [A little further](https://markmcmillion.com/a-little-further/) - Mathew 26:39 says of Jesus, “He went a little further and fell on His face.” This was Jesus’ time in the garden of Gethsemane, just before His arrest and subsequent crucifixion. But how many of us need to follow Jesus’ example here in “going a little further and falling on our face” in desperate prayer? - [Addicted to hate](https://markmcmillion.com/addicted-to-hate/) - Years ago in Denmark my former wife and I were ministering to a recovered morphine addict. We read the Bible with him and tried to help him in his recovery. But a thing that both of us noticed was that, although he no longer used morphine, he was drinking up to 20 cups of coffee - [With Muslims in Tragedy](https://markmcmillion.com/with-muslims-in-tragedy/) - Ten years ago this week was the beginning of perhaps the most heart-wrenching experience I’ve ever had in ministering to others. You may have read that around this time is the 10th anniversary of the Asian Tsunami disaster of late 2004. I’d been living in Jakarta, Indonesia for over a year and when the disaster - [Christmas, 2014](https://markmcmillion.com/christmas-2014/) - It’s that time of year again, Christmas. Last year around this time I wrote an article "Well, it’s Christmas" which told a lot about my thoughts and feelings about Christmas, which isn’t perhaps a totally mainstream, traditional approach. I also included in that article a song that has always been the one I associate with - [Where is a Saladin?](https://markmcmillion.com/where-is-a-saladin/) - I have a number of links and/or experiences in and with the Islamic world including some near relatives. From this I’ve come to a generally different view, as compared to what is considered the normal North American Christian view of Islam and Muslims. So even writing about this is kind of “skating on thin ice”. - [Aliens and Astronauts](https://markmcmillion.com/aliens-and-astronauts/) - I’m an astronaut but I am not an alien. Let me explain. In a sense the first Christians were called to be astronauts, other-worldly citizens of a world to come. Not aliens, but no longer really earthlings either. But many Christians today just fly kites. Some fly little Cessna’s, a few fly airliners and can - [Hawks and doves (Part 2) Istanbul, Turkey](https://markmcmillion.com/hawks-and-doves-part-ii-istanbul-turkey/) - I’d been living in Indonesia for 4 wonderful years, but I was certain it was time for me to move on from there. I wanted to continue a life of full time service for God and my fellow man and didn't really want to move back to the West. After much desperate prayer, the Lord - [Acts 21 Live Class Audio](https://markmcmillion.com/acts-21-live-class-audio/) - If the Apostle Paul is one of the main characters of the book of Acts, then Acts 21 is one of the most pivotal chapters in his life. Up until Acts 21, Paul was a free man and had done an incredible amount of work to win souls and establish churches throughout the part of - [“Shaken, Not Stirred”](https://markmcmillion.com/shaken-not-stirred/) - When I was 16, I read “James Bond” books. You may laugh but the books were pretty different from the later movies. Well, I won’t go off on James Bond here. But if you know much about the character, one of his most famous lines was always how he’d describe how he wanted his martini, - [Blessed Is He That Considers The Poor](https://markmcmillion.com/blessed-is-he-that-considers-the-poor/) - I’d like to ask for your prayers for some dear friends who’ve been a tremendous help to me. I was praying for them today and got the verse from Psalm 41:1, “Blessed is he that considers the poor, the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.” I’ll explain. About 18 months ago a man - [“It’s a gun, isn’t it?”](https://markmcmillion.com/its-a-gun-isnt-it/) - I was on an overnight train from Budapest, Hungary to another eastern European capital in the 1990’s. With me was a young French sister in the Lord who was on her way to her new mission field. It was like a time of high summer in the spiritual sowing and reaping of that part of - [Acts 20 Live Class Audio](https://markmcmillion.com/acts-20-live-class-audio/) - When I think of Acts 20, I always think of Paul’s last talk and farewell near Ephesus with the ones he loved so much, and who loved him so much. There are many striking, stirring verses in that talk. These were some of the things we discussed and highlighted in our live class on Acts - [Hawks and doves (Part 1)](https://markmcmillion.com/hawks-and-doves-part-1/) - An hour ago I was on a walk, something I often do after getting back from church. Suddenly I started flaying my arms wildly as it sounded like a flock of birds was flying right at me. Then I saw that a dove or quail had been in some cactus right next to the sidewalk - [Sweet Potatoes with Butter](https://markmcmillion.com/sweet-potatoes-with-butter/) - I heard a story one time, I don’t know if it’s true. Seems it was after the Civil War in America, down in the South where the slaves were now free but still living tough, segregated lives. So a white woman had an African American woman working for her as her "maid". And somehow the - [Acts 19 Live Class](https://markmcmillion.com/acts-19-live-class/) - I was thinking about it, there’s not hardly one chapter in the book of Acts that is not significant, full of momentous verses and truth. But perhaps Acts 19 is one of the chapters that is most like that. The audio recording of our Acts 19 live class can be heard here. One of the - [The Government?](https://markmcmillion.com/the-government/) - I don’t usually like to write about secular and especially political things. But the other side of the coin is that many, if not most people, are largely concerned with secular and political “affairs of this life”. (II Timothy 2:4) So I’m going to share something here that’s mainly going to go against the grain of - [Weapons to Pakistan](https://markmcmillion.com/weapons-to-pakistan/) - (Even before I tell what happened, let me say that this is in no way a negative article about anyone in the Subcontinent at all. I spent 18 happy months there in the 1980’s. It’s full of wonderful people and what I’m going to tell here could have happened in Burma, Bulgaria or Bolivia. The - [Acts 18 Live Class](https://markmcmillion.com/acts-18-live-class/) - Our live class on Acts 18 actually went on longer than almost any of the other classes before that. Which is only fitting as Paul wrote more to the Corinthians than to any other church. And there’s just really a lot there, in Acts 18, in the books of Corinthians and in our live class. - [Acts 17 Live Class Audio](https://markmcmillion.com/acts-17-live-class-audio/) - Acts 17 is a beautiful and triumphant chapter, showing obedience to the commandment Jesus gave His disciples after His resurrection when He said, “But you shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you. And you shall be witnesses unto me …unto the uttermost parts of the earth.” (Acts 1:8) In our - [Good news from the Middle East](https://markmcmillion.com/good-news-from-the-middle-east/) - This is the first time I’ve made a news item the main substance of a blog post. But this article so struck me as good news, as well as an antidote to what I feel has been so much fear and terror that’s been spread on Christian web sites in response to recent events in - [“The Last 7 Years” -Daniel 9:27-](https://markmcmillion.com/the-last-7-years-daniel-927/) - http://youtu.be/iPRDpUvrldo If you’ve been seeing the other videos on the prophecies of Daniel before this, you’ll know that this is essentially the seminal video in the series. This video, based around the last verse in Daniel 9, is focused on the Old Testament verse that Jesus Himself referred to when He was asked about His - [Looking back, and up ahead](https://markmcmillion.com/looking-back-and-up-ahead/) - As some of you know, I had a birthday in the last few days. But there’s something happening at this time which is a bigger milestone than that. I’ve finally completed the present video I’ve been working on, the one about Daniel 9:27 and the last 7 year before the coming of the Lord. If - [Acts 16 live class audio](https://markmcmillion.com/acts-16-live-class-audio/) - In Acts 16, Paul was back out “on the road”, obeying what the Lord had told him would be his future and destiny, “to bear my [Jesus’] name before the Gentiles” (Acts 9:15). (You can listen to our live class on Acts 16 here.) Paul and his companions, first Barnabus and then later Silas, had - [Sharing faith with Muslims](https://markmcmillion.com/sharing-faith-with-muslims/) - Over 30 years ago I was on a local train in Austria, heading in to the capital, Vienna. Sitting across from me were two young men who seemed to be foreigners and they had a large Koran which they were reading. I struck up a conversation with them as they spoke English. After a while, - [Fear them not](https://markmcmillion.com/fear-them-not/) - Most Christians shun pornography. They know they aren’t supposed to be alcoholics, or steal or kill. But how many Christians are violating a direct commandment of Jesus Christ every day and reveling in it? In Matthew 10:28, Jesus commanded “And fear not them that kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul, - [Acts 15 Live Class Audio](https://markmcmillion.com/acts-15-live-class-audio/) - After two chapters of real “action” in Acts, our chapter 15 study showed us another aspect of the Early Church, but such an important one. (You can listen to our live class on Acts 15 here.) Acts 15 seemed a little bit to be a repeat of what happened back in Acts 11. If you - [“The Last 7 Years” video update](https://markmcmillion.com/the-last-7-years-video-update/) - What am I working on nowadays? “The Last 7 Years” “The 70th Week of Daniel”. Some of you know what this is and it possibly sends a slight shiver down your spine, as it does to me. Because you know that this subject, based around the last verse in chapter 9 of the book of - [Acts 14 live class audio](https://markmcmillion.com/acts-14-live-class-audio/) - One way to look at Acts 14 is to just quote what Paul told his follower Timothy towards the end of Paul’s life: “All that will live Godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution." (II Timothy 3:12) Our weekly live class was on Acts chapter 14 [You can hear the live class audio here] and - [Wishing you a Merry Christmas](https://markmcmillion.com/wishing-you-a-merry-christmas/) - Just a short personal note here, I’d like to wish you a happy, joyful, faith-filed Christmas. The very fact that I can be doing a post on a blog like this is like a little miracle, something that was only a distant hope or dream last Christmas. I know in my heart I really have - [Categories](https://markmcmillion.com/categories/) - This will not be a usual kind of blog post. It came to my attention recently that I have not been keeping up with the categories section of this blog site. Sorry about that. It’s been close to two years now since I first got going with this site. During that time, I've written around - [“The sky is falling!”](https://markmcmillion.com/the-sky-is-falling/) - Believe it or not, I heard once that the phrase, “May you live in interesting times” is actually a Chinese curse! But it does seem we live in interesting times. Of course some people are like what Jesus said about folks in the time of Noah, “they knew not till the flood came and carried - [“Jesus coming back? No way!”](https://markmcmillion.com/jesus-coming-back-no-way/) - When I was 20, I’d sometimes meet Christians who’d talk to me about Jesus of Nazareth. I usually really enjoyed it. I felt I could always argue with them and usually make them feel stupid or embarrassed about their faith. Back then, I liked to do that. So I know how nutty it can seem - [Spiritual habits (Part 2) The Word of God](https://markmcmillion.com/spiritual-habits-part-2-the-word-of-god/) - Perhaps the second spiritual habit to talk about, which is so utterly essential, is just our relationship and interaction with God’s Word, the Bible. If you are a child of God, then just like a child of this world when you are newborn, there’s nothing more important than your nourishment. A baby doesn’t have to - [Spiritual Habits (Part 3) Prayer](https://markmcmillion.com/spiritual-habits-part-3-prayer/) - I’ll never forget when my youngest son was 2 months old. I was holding him in my arms when he looked me straight in the eyes, reached out his arms to me and gave me this tremendous hug. It was breathtaking, such love. Nothing mental, no technique, just something from the deepest place of the - [A Powerpoint of "So You Have To Go Home"](https://markmcmillion.com/a-powerpoint-of-so-you-have-to-go-home/) - Recently I posted an article called “So You Have To Go Home”. This was about the experiences of Ruth and Naomi in the Old Testament and how some of us in these times can find significance in how things worked out for them when they had to “go home.” Some dear missionary friends of mine - [Fear God](https://markmcmillion.com/fear-god/) - Fear is a fascinating subject. In modern times, almost everyone, if asked, will say that fear is bad. But then if you look in the Bible, it says we should “fear God”. So then some people think we should have this paralyzing, morbid, terrifying, debilitating fear of this awesome monster of a God who’s just - [Red lights and the Sabbath](https://markmcmillion.com/red-lights-and-the-sabbath/) - I was out for a walk. I think it was a Tuesday. I had so much to do that it was really weighing on me. In Nehemiah it says “the people had a mind to work.” (Nehemiah 4:6) I guess I’m like that sometimes. I have so many things that I feel I need to - [A Strong Man, Armed](https://markmcmillion.com/a-strong-man-armed/) - After the article I posted “Citizenship in Heaven”, I received a comment on it from a friend. Here are parts of it: What about taking up arms to protect your wife and children, elderly relatives and friends from roving gangs of hoodlums who’ll laugh in your face as they go through your neighborhoods in the - [Have Daily Devotions](https://markmcmillion.com/have-daily-devotions/) - One of the things that has stuck with me the most from the 36 years I spent abroad, serving God, was the need to maintain my relationship with the Lord. One of the mainstays in this, during those years, was having daily devotions. There was virtually never a day where I didn’t meet with my - [Redeeming the time](https://markmcmillion.com/redeeming-the-time/) - There are so many fascinating, often obscure verses in the Bible that have had an effect on my life. Paul said that we should be “renewed in the spirit of our minds” (Ephesians 4:23). For me, it was reading, memorizing and embracing the words in the Bible that had so much to do with renewing my - [Resetting to factory default](https://markmcmillion.com/resetting-to-factory-default/) - In a recent post on my other web site, I wrote about “The Operating System”. Your computer probably runs Windows but maybe it’s a Mac or you run Linux. This is the basic system that operates your computer and is the platform on which all the software you use works from. But often, everything means - [Peripherals](https://markmcmillion.com/peripherals/) - If you’re like me, you probably have a “to do” list. There are so many good things to do and most of us have more to do than we know what to do with. So, what do you do? This is one place where being a Christian, having faith in God and a personal relationship - [A Parable of Yogurts & Warm Milk ](https://markmcmillion.com/a-parable-of-yogurts-warm-milk/) - Have you ever made yogurt? I used to do that 30 years ago in Vienna, Austria when my little family was together. It was easy. First you had a big pot of milk. But you had to heat it to just the right temperature. It couldn’t really be “lukewarm” (Revelation 3:16) but you didn’t want - [Burn Through The Clouds](https://markmcmillion.com/burn-through-the-clouds/) - You ever had a cloudy day? I’ve had a few in the last days. I felt “bottled up”, little nagging questions, fears, complaints or other kinds of nuisances just stacked up behind each other at the edge of my thoughts and mind. They seemed to come from the general direction of doubts. So it’s all - [Can we change God’s mind?](https://markmcmillion.com/can-we-change-gods-mind/) - I had just written the post about “Weeping for Saul” and I thought how that some people might not like what I said there. They could think I’m against really holding on for someone in prayer. There are times for that, certainly. If prayer doesn’t work, why pray? One time, God became so fed up - [“Ghost”](https://markmcmillion.com/ghost/) - In was in Budapest, Hungary around 1996 and I was sharing my faith with a young man, endeavoring to bring him to belief in Jesus. I told him about the spiritual experiences I’d had which helped me to come to have faith, some of which were fairly strange. And one point he said to me, - [Stuck](https://markmcmillion.com/stuck/) - Sometimes we just get stuck. God allows it and knows it, but He doesn’t want us to stay there. One of the greatest examples of this to me is what happened to the prophet Elijah, during the time before the fall of northern Israel in 722 BC. Elijah is perhaps best remembered for standing on - [The Greatest Song of All](https://markmcmillion.com/the-greatest-song-of-all/) - I am not a musician but music has always played a really big role in my life. I’ve sometimes wondered how my life would have been different if I‘d ever been able to learn to play guitar. I got to where I knew a lot of chords but I just never could get the strumming - [The parable of the Seed and the Egg](https://markmcmillion.com/the-parable-of-the-seed-and-the-egg/) - A verse that’s always been interesting to me is where it says, “The seed is the Word of God”. (Luke 8:11). And since we know that Jesus is the Word, made flesh, then we can see Jesus as “the Seed”. But what are the eggs? We are. Jesus is The Seed. We are the eggs. - [“Who Do You Think You Are?!”](https://markmcmillion.com/who-do-you-think-you-are/) - Has anybody every said that to you, “Who do you think you are?” Or maybe, have you ever said that to yourself? It can get kind of deep. Pride is such a major pitfall of Christians. But on the other hand, you can be so negative about yourself that you just feel God couldn’t possibly - [Pray the Word](https://markmcmillion.com/pray-the-word/) - I don’t know about you but, for me, life is a fight every day. And we have a lot to fight, especially with (as the Bible calls them) “the sins which do so easily beset us.” (Hebrews 12:1) Almost everyone has to fight laziness, indifference, boredom and the swarm of little distractions that assail us - [Where’s That Plane?](https://markmcmillion.com/wheres-that-plane/) - I don’t usually write about current events. But the story of the missing Malaysian Airlines flight 370 which vanished 4 days ago has a number of things to it that I really wonder about. First, this is not going to be about alien abductions and the New World Order. Well, maybe a little about the - [Crimean Crisis = “This Is The End”?](https://markmcmillion.com/crimean-crisis-this-is-the-end/) - I lived in eastern Ukraine for 18 wonderful months in 2008 and 2009, in Dnepropetrovsk. So the Ukrainian crisis has been personal for me and I’ve kept in close contact with friends there. But many who follow "the signs of the times" (Mark 16:3) are really wondering if this is the beginning of the battle - [The movie “Noah”](https://markmcmillion.com/the-movie-noah/) - I just saw the movie “Noah”. I’m glad I went, it was good. “Oh, Mark, how can you say that!?” Well, there are a lot of reasons. When I want the pure truth of God’s Word, I of course read my Bible and believe the account of Genesis. But I part company with all the - [“I have kept the faith.”](https://markmcmillion.com/i-have-kept-the-faith/) - I often try to sort of visualize some of the people of the Bible. These were real folks, they just lived a long time ago. You can tell from reading God’s Word that they were in many ways just like us. They faced obstacles; they had personal problems which sometimes were the results of their - [“God’s a monster!” he said.](https://markmcmillion.com/gods-a-monster-he-said/) - Recently a dear Asian friend who was a missionary for years in Vietnam sent me a letter she’d received from a friend of hers there. Her friend had been sent a blistering letter from someone she knew, disparaging God. The antagonist letter against God was like this: "First things first: "For God so loved the - [What about salvation?](https://markmcmillion.com/what-about-salvation/) - You can hardly think about or talk about a bigger subject than salvation. If there is anything at the heart of the New Testament, it would be the subject of salvation. And yet it is another of the almost endless things that believers disagree on. And I’ve found, since being back here in the States - [Lose salvation? (Salvation part 3)](https://markmcmillion.com/lose-salvation-salvation-part-3/) - Do I really want to write an article about this? Wouldn’t be safer to stick with simpler, less controversial subjects like the second coming of Jesus, abortion rights and if there's apartheid in the Middle East? Nah, lest go for the big one here; let’s talk about losing your salvation. First, a story to illustrate - [“All You Meek Of The Earth”](https://markmcmillion.com/all-you-meek-of-the-earth/) - Sometimes it just strikes, you: the difference between the ways of God and the ways of Man. In Isaiah are the famous verses where the Lord says, “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than - [Just Did It](https://markmcmillion.com/just-did-it/) - Don’t tell me God doesn’t have a sense of humor. As I’ve written about before, I usually go on at least one walk a day. It’s more of a prayer time than really exercise but I guess it’s that too. It’s just refreshing and invigorating to get out in nature and to see God’s creation. - [“Cancel my subscription to the Resurrection” (Salvation part 4)](https://markmcmillion.com/cancel-my-subscription-to-the-resurrection-salvation-part-4/) - After the recent post I did about salvation, I got a very touching letter from a fellow missionary who wrote and asked what my thoughts were about some of her kids who were brought up as Christians but are now vocally anti-God. Here’s part of what she wrote: I will never doubt my salvation… but - [An introduction to this blog](https://markmcmillion.com/introducing-this-new-blog/) - I’m just really happy that I can post for the first time on this new blog. Elsewhere there’s a more info about who I am and what this is all about. But to put something here, I'm Mark, I’m from Texas and… how can I boil it down to just a few words? I’ve had - [Moving abroad again in 2003](https://markmcmillion.com/moving-abroad-again-in-2003/) - This is the second Fields newsletter that I sent to friends in 2003, shortly after I arrived in Jakarta, Indonesia at the beginning of what turned out to be 5 amazing years in that wonderful country. Hello to you again, this time from Sweden! Since my last newsletter, many things worked out well so that - [Fields newsletters](https://markmcmillion.com/the-fields-newsletters/) - In 2003 I moved abroad again after of living in Austin, Texas for 2½ years. I’d been living outside the US for most of my adult life before that and was in need of a break, as well as time with my family. But the Lord led me again to “go into all the world” - [Far Country Photos from Jakarta](https://markmcmillion.com/far-country-photos-from-jakarta/) - While I lived in Indonesia from 2003 to 2008, I would, from time to time, send a newsletter to friends which was mostly photos. A picture is certainly worth 1000 words and this “Far Country Photos” shows a slum school project I was involved with in one of the very worst areas of Jakarta. This - [“When you die, you die like a dog, right?”](https://markmcmillion.com/when-you-die-you-die-like-a-dog-right/) - Someone told me that when I was young and it really stuck with me. “When you die, you die like a dog.” It’s a real simple way of expressing one of the most prevalent ideologies on earth: atheism and unbelief. If you look at things that way (and I did for years), then you just - [“Did he really say that?”](https://markmcmillion.com/did-he-really-say-that/) - This is the third in what was originally intended to be a series on the subject of “Jesus coming back? God bless you and greetings again. This time, instead of giving you “the big picture”, I want to zoom down to just one of the many events that make up - [Teaching in Jakarta](https://markmcmillion.com/teaching-in-jakarta/) - After a year in Jakarta, I made a trip back home to the US in the spring of 2004. And these ones I had classes with were themselves learning to be teachers and ministers - [Miracles Per Hour](https://markmcmillion.com/miracles-per-hour/) - I was thinking tonight about the idea of “miracles per hour”. I’d just told one of the teachers at school about what happened to me last week. I wrote up that and posted it here under the title “God’s Little Miracles.” So she said, “Wow, you were really lucky.” That’s often how people look at - [No Millennium?](https://markmcmillion.com/no-millennium/) - A few days ago I had a brief dialog with a missionary friend of mine in Europe about the subject of the Millennium. He wrote this: Millennium - a word not found in your Bible, denoting a mythical time period somewhere in the far future when all we don't have faith for now will suddenly - [The end of the world?](https://markmcmillion.com/the-end-of-the-world/) - A Russian friend of mine has had many people asking him about “the end of the world”. He asked if I could write a small tract on this subject which he could give to others. Here’s what I sent him. Have you heard people talking about the end of the world? Lots of people said - [Asia Tsunami Video](https://markmcmillion.com/asia-tsunami-video/) - This video I am posting here is very personal and significant for me. It was filmed during what was the most intense, indescribable 11 days I ever experienced in the 36 years I lived outside North America. Eight days after one of the worst natural disasters to hit our world in the last 100 years, - [A flock of Whooping Cranes](https://markmcmillion.com/a-flock-of-whooping-cranes/) - I go to a mega church here in Austin. I enjoy the fellowship and the sermons. But one of the things I do each Sunday is to sit in the foyer, drink a tea, and just look at people coming there before the service. I often think that it’s like being in a large flock - [New live classes](https://markmcmillion.com/new-live-classes/) - It’s worked out for me over the last month to begin to give live Bible classes here in Austin. I’m really glad about that as this is something I’ve done in the past in many places, including here in Austin for a time between 2001 and 2003. This morning I woke up one and a half hours earlier than usual, wide awake and ready to start my day. I had a light breakfast, took 20 minutes to read some devotional material and review some verses, my regular start to most days. It was - [What’s next for me?](https://markmcmillion.com/whats-next-for-me/) - For so many people who believe in God, they sort of instinctively “hedge their bets” when thinking about the future. James, in his book in the New Testament, said this to folks who were boasting about how "…today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a town, stay there a year, conduct business, - [“Sound Doctrine”? or Speculation](https://markmcmillion.com/sound-doctrine-or-speculation/) - For all my life, truth has been important to me. Then, when I went from being an atheist to a Christian, discovering the Bible was like a real love relationship. Before I became a Christian, for several months I believed in God but didn’t know who Jesus was. During that time I read the Bible, - [ “Jesus coming back? No way!”](https://markmcmillion.com/jesus-coming-back-no-way-2/) - When I was 20, I’d sometimes met Christians who’d talk to me about Jesus of Nazareth. I usually really enjoyed it. I felt I could always out talk them and usually make them feel stupid or embarrassed about their faith. Back then, I liked to do that. So I know how nutty it can seem - [Am I a “New Ager”?](https://markmcmillion.com/am-i-a-new-ager/) - Today I saw on my web site that someone had done a Google search, something like “Is Mark McMillion a New Ager or is he a true Christian?". That gave me a laugh but also got me thinking. Why would someone wonder about if I'm “New Age”? Well, here in America, if you're a Christian, - [ God’s Little Miracles: Choice and Babylon](https://markmcmillion.com/gods-little-miracles-choice-and-babylon/) - Something strange happened this morning. I guess it’s another of those “little miracles” that I’ve told you about in other places. I try to start each day with a time of devotions, reading some Scriptural material, reviewing some of the Bible verses I’ve memorized and taking a time of prayer before starting the day. This - [Texas People](https://markmcmillion.com/texas-people/) - It’s Thanksgiving Day here in the States. I don’t only believe in them, I’ve had a few happen to me over the years. One of them, in Budapest, Hungary 22 years ago, was very precious, very personal and very amazing. I’ll need to give you a little background to set the stage so that you can see how - [Alexander the Great comes to Jerusalem](https://markmcmillion.com/alexander-the-great-comes-to-jerusalem/) - I’ve been able to complete the first of the supplementary videos to Daniel chapter 8, a seven minute video about Alexander the Great's visit to Jerusalem which you can see below. http://youtu.be/75O_iv6uqTk This is just an amazing story and probably very few people know that this ever happened. This - [Famous Failures of Prophetic Interpretation](https://markmcmillion.com/famous-failures-of-prophetic-interpretation/) - http://youtu.be/z6pLFpwNaA8 I have been able to complete another supplementary video to Daniel chapter 8. Recently we did Acts chapter 2; boy, that chapter can shake you up! It certainly did for the ones who were there in Jerusalem 2000 years ago, to say the least. Like I said in the class on - [“What’s the ‘Generation Gap’?”, she said](https://markmcmillion.com/whats-the-generation-gap-she-said/) - Probably if you’re from my generation and live in the States, you may wonder why there’d even be a need to write something like this. “Everybody knows what the Generation Gap is!”, you could say. Acts 6 in many ways was about fairly practical things. The number of the disciples had increased so much that just managing the physical side of things got to be too much for the apostles. [The live - [Daniel chapter 9 video progress](https://markmcmillion.com/daniel-chapter-9-video-progress/) - Thanks for your prayers, things are going well. Over the last month I’ve been able to work on the first of two videos on Daniel chapter 9. When talking about that chapter, it’s really hard to do the subject justice. Here are a few thoughts. There are perhaps two chapters which are the most significant - [Acts Chapter 8 Live Class Audio](https://markmcmillion.com/acts-chapter-8-live-class-audio/) - In our class on Acts chapter 8, we begin to move on from the time of the foundation of the Early Church in Jerusalem. Even in secular circles this is a common phrase and it relates to - [Acts Chapter 11 live class audio](https://markmcmillion.com/acts-chapter-11-live-class-audio/) - As I’ve mentioned before, it's seemed to me from time to time that some rather humorous situations happen in the Bible. I’m not sure there was much laughter during the events of Acts 11. But perhaps if a movie was made of Acts 10 and 11, then things happening in both chapters at some points - [Daniel Chapter 9-a Video: “The 69 Weeks”](https://markmcmillion.com/daniel-chapter-9-a-video-the-69-weeks/) - http://youtu.be/Lcye3OtZS64 This is the first of two videos on Daniel chapter 9. After this, from chapter 13 on, the Apostle Paul becomes the central figure. In Acts 12, Peter was continuing to witness and to spread the good news to his brethren the Jews that the long awaited Messiah had indeed come.
